A tasty Dragon Roll recipe with salmon, avocado, cucumber, shrimp, and sushi rice wrapped in nori seaweed and sesame seeds. You can drizzle eel sauce on top if you want to.
Ingredients: 2 cups sushi rice. 4 nori seaweed sheets. 1 ripe avocado, sliced. 1/2 cucumber, julienned. 8 oz cooked shrimp, sliced in half lengthwise. 4 oz sushi-grade salmon, thinly sliced. Soy sauce, for serving. Pickled ginger, for serving. Wasabi, for serving. Sesame seeds, for garnish. Eel sauce, for drizzling optional.
Instructions: Prepare sushi rice according to package instructions and let it cool. Place a nori sheet shiny side down on a bamboo sushi mat. Spread an even layer of sushi rice on the nori, leaving about 1 inch of the nori sheet uncovered at the top edge. Arrange avocado slices, cucumber, shrimp, and salmon in a line across the center of the rice. Roll the sushi tightly using the bamboo mat, starting from the bottom edge. Once rolled, moisten the top edge of the nori sheet with water to seal the roll. Slice the roll into 8 equal pieces using a sharp knife. Place the dragon roll pieces on a serving platter. Garnish with sesame seeds and drizzle with eel sauce if desired. Serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi on the side.
