Wizarding Currency of the United States of America:

The Dragot is the main form of currency in the wizarding United States, similarly to a dollar of the No-Maji. There are coins minted in circular and octagonal shapes, which represent fractions of a Dragot. Full Dragots are made of silver. Half Dragots, made of steel, are commonly called Kerats, though simply “half-Dragots” is not terribly uncommon. Quarter Dragots are called Quarcks and are made of brass. Sprinks are made of iron and are worth a fiftieth of a Dragot.

The current rate of exchange between No-Maj and wizarding money according to the Department of Treasure and Dragots follows:

**Inflation and fluctuations in value account for any changes made to the rate of exchange. For example, in 1926, 23 Sprinks was equivalent to 2¢. Since then, the value of the dollar has gone down and the Dragot up.

Yeah, it happened. Apparently these characters should be talking about “Dragots,” not Galleons.

At least, I think. Pottermore seems to be implying that North America only has one magical government, at least in the sense that it only talks about “the Magical Congress of the United States" in its history of the continent.

Then again, J.K. Rowling’s attempts to write about North American history and culture get so much wrong that I can probably justify ignoring this stuff in favor of intra-blog continuity.
