Just about to head to my lesson. Just ate some leftover pizza and hydrated so I don't drop like a sack of potatoes. Do you have a kind of charm that you wear for good luck? I do. This dark cherub playing the violin while balancing on a skull. It represents my appreciation for the dark and unusual as well as my love for classical music. When I wear this, I feel like the gods of music are with me, helping me grow as a singer. Just this past week, there's been an extraordinary change in my voice (especially since using the Alexander technique to help my posture issues). I can feel it growing stronger and more consistent every day. Thank goodness I have a voice lesson today - I have a lot of energy to burn off. ;) My best friend @gabbieann921 has a matching one because we both love music. I hate how I sound on amateur cell phone video. But here I am, hard at work, rehearsing one of my songs for a voice competition next weekend with my trusty accompanist. It feels good to be singing "Lu Trademiento" by Donizetti again. It's like reuniting with an old friend. Donizetti was the composer who really ignited the inferno of my passion for opera. Relaxing with a glass of wine and looking over my music once more for tomorrow's performance. My hair is done and ready, and I feel strong and empowered by how my voice has developed in the past six months. I'm ready for my first performance in front of an audience in three years.
