Hey Vero! Nice to see you girlie! :) This is for you!! (It might be in two parts if I get really into it xD I just don't know if I can write a short story and do those prompts justice...)
Send me a pairing and three words and I'll write a story!
Arthur normally wasn't left alone, always crowded with bodyguards to look out for him and he understood, of course he did. Prince Arthur. Heir to the throne. It just got too much today and he needed some alone time, he had somehow snuck out of the palace (And if anyone asked where the rope went, well... he didn't steal it) and had gone to the Fair that was opening up for a week. He'd heard there was a tent for arcade games and he wanted to check it out.
He hoped the black jeans and dark blue hoodie kept him hidden enough, the hood pulled up to hide his blonde hair and so far no one had seen him. 'Good sign, Arthur. Just get through this day without any hiccups and you can go back safe and sound' He thought to himself, almost rolling his eyes at the thought. 'Dumbass'
Arthur walked through the Fair, ducking between people until he found the arcade tent, grinning as he walked in and over to the machine that changed notes to coins. He had only brought twenty quid with him, he didn't want to stand out if he brought more and plus thieves! He put the twenty through the slot and put the tub underneath, catching the one pounds that came out. His eyes shining with pure joy and delight.
"Hey! Hurry up! Others want to get some money!" Someone called from behind him, looking behind him he saw two more people behind him.
"Oh! Sorry. I'll be quick." He mentally hurried the machine on, letting out a relieved sigh when it finally stop dispensing coins and let him leave. "Again, my apologies." He nodded to the two people, getting an odd look from a lanky brunette and, not wanting to risk someone recognising him, he fled to one of the machines.
He found the pacman game first, a grin on his lips as he remembered the old gameboy game he had of pacman. Popping the pound in he got three turns to which he eagerly played. After winning all the rounds he roamed around the games, spotting another old favourite of his 'Frogger' but walking past it and stopping at Kung Fu which looked interesting. Popping the money in and starting the game, frowning every time he lost and putting more money. Determined to beat the game at least once.
"You're shit at that." A voice spoke from behind him, sounding rather amused. "I don't think you should be allowed to roam around if you can't even beat that game." The stranger chuckled softly and Arthur had to admit it was a rather nice chuckle.
"You think you could do any better?" Arthur asked, turning around to face the not-so stranger. It was the guy at the machine who had given him a weird look. "Oh it's you." He rolled his eyes, turning back to his game and continuing, missing the incredulous look the kid gave him.
"Excuse me? That was really rude and just because you can't play arcade games does not mean you take your anger out on perfectly civilised people." The guy huffed, anger now lacing his words. "You know what. Fuck you. I don't even want to play that game any more." The boy turned around and went to walk away.
"Wait! I'm... " Arthur called out, watching as the boy stopped, his shoulders tense. "I'm... Sorry. Can we start over? I could really use some help." He mumbled, not use to asking for help but for some reason this boy intrigued him. "I'm Arthur." He offered, holding his hand out to the boy who was slowly turning around.
The boy eyed the hand before sighing, slipping his own hand into Arthur's and shaking it. "Merlin and no I am not joking. My mum was a big fan of the Arthurian legend." He gave a wry smile. "I also accept your apology and will help you... if you let my hand go." His smile turned to amusement as he looked at their still entwined hands.
"Sorry!" Arthur squeaked, pulling his hand back and blushing. 'Smooth Arthur. You can manage to speak in front of the world about things but you can't speak to one boy. Smooth' He shook his head before smiling, albeit shyly. "You promised to help me?" He asked, gesturing to the game.
"Oh yeah! See you have to do this..." Merlin continued to talk as he worked through the game, a grin on his lips and Arthur couldn't help but return the grin, the day at the fair was starting to look really good now.
