Gavin is such an adorkable idiot. He came up to me beaming today with his sketchbook in hand. He showed me and I couldn’t help but smile. He drew me! Me and the few dinosaurs we encountered on the Isla Sorna trip. He even drew a carnotosaurus he had caught at one point.
Gavin is such a good artist, I’m sure he’d love to draw other dinosaurs and things too.
Another kid in our art class draws or makes dinosaurs almost every week, and today my daughter felt inspired by the big dinopedia.
I’m not sure if she ever really tried to draw dinosaurs before, but I really love these things she made today!!

Why dinosaur?
I drew a dinosaur. Most of the pictures before were showing humans. How come?
In this case it was not just a mood. A few days ago I found the blog of Andrew Mar. I like his way of drawing and I was spontaneously inspired to try it myself. The results are the drawings after the end of Inktober (except the thief-lady). They never really worked as I wanted them to. Now I looked at Mar`s blog again and realized that he draws similar topics quite often. Maybe the range of his interests, in which he worked for a long time.
Through my drawings I found out that I`m not too used to draw people and clothing. So, just for a change, I thought “As a test I`ll try drawing something I know how to draw already”. As a child I was fascinated by dinosaurs (There are no photographs of them; every dinosaur-book is illustrated). So I have a lot of drawing experience with dinosaurs.
I like the result very much. And as for drawing people: I`ll just have to practice I guess.
