Alright Anon, just for you, take this comic i made inspired by the episode where Jay’s parents visit him during season 1 💕

I imagine empty nest syndrome hits chimera hard- I mean it’s not everyday both your kid suddenly move to another country to fight some villains outside of your usual peanut gallery. MK finds himself a lot more sympathetic to what Pigsy had to go through when he became Wukong’s successor. But Chimera has one trick up their sleeve normal parents don’t- namely the ability to summon a magical cloud with super speed meaning Chimera can pay a visit to their kiddos whenever they want. Suddenly Jay’s parents don’t seem so smothering.

Can we have some fun facts about the chimera parents au

* The first time Kai transformed into his true form while the ninja were dealing with the serpentine and Lloyd, Lloyd ends up forgetting he’s supposed to hate the ninja’s guts for five seconds cause he thinks Kai looks so cool, demanding to know why Kai doesn’t take that form to always win each fight.

* When the duo was little, Mei attached a side car to her cycle so Kai and Nya could ride around with her. Not for any of her races- Red and MK would give her such a loooooooong lecture if she did- but just little joy rides around the city

* Kai and Nya call Wukong “Grandpa Sun” despite him not biologically being their grandpa. Although there was a good couple years where Nya was convinced they were biologically related to him because of the nickname.

* Kai and Nya actually gain a couple more siblings later down the line in this au- Firecracker, Huiying, and Jiayi (the later two are @starsfic spicynoodles fankid ocs)

I hope we see more about your lmk and ninja au I have a question how do mk red mei react seeing Lloyd

First time Chimera ever hears about Lloyd is during one of Kai’s daily call home, when he’s bragging about how the ninja totally destroyed Lloyd’s treehouse that the serpentine were using as a base and MK is just like “WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU JUST LEFT A KID WITH THE SERPENTINE?”

Chimera winds up paying an impromptu visit to the dojo to lecture the ninja about the dangers of leaving a kid alone with dangerous Yokai (“No, it doesn’t matter if he’s the kid of your greatest enemy!”) and so Mei can track Lloyd down before he can get into anymore trouble.

Rocky first meetings aside, Chimera wind up adoring Lloyd and become a bit of paternal figures for him because turns out a couple of empty nesters are gonna latch onto the affection of a young child pretty quickly. And Lloyd knows he should probably raise a fuss but well, he’s never really received any positive attention from adults before. It’s…nice. Plus it is pretty cool getting to meet the Red Son. Even if he did turn into a goody two shoes.

how would cole and jay and nya relationship would be like in the chimera au

So here’s a lil fact about me- most of the time I CANNOT stand love triangles. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate the trope. It can be very entertaining when written correctly but half the time I see a love triangle in a show, I just wind up sitting there wondering why they don’t all just go poly lmao. So when I first watched s3 and they first introduced the Jay x Nya x Cole love triangle, you can probably imagine where my train of thought led me.

So to begin with, in Chimera Parents au the love triangle probably gets nipped in the bud early on because Nya is well aware of the fact you can be interested in more then one person at time and that it’s completely normal thanks to her parents. Meanwhile, Cole has always had a bit of one-sided crush on Jay long before they even meet the chimera siblings. And while a part of him wants to be petty against Nya for catching Jay’s eye, he finds he can’t because once he gets to know her, she’s like genuinely cool and it’s impossible to hate her when he totally understands why Jay likes her. And Cole -despite his dad clearly having something going on with his quartet- doesn’t even consider the possibility that you can have a crush on multiple people at the same time cause in his head, he’s like “well, sure, Nya is really pretty and she totally kicks butt and I don’t mind listening to her talk tech like Jay all day but like I still really big crush on Jay. So obviously all these thoughts are just me thinking she’s really cool, no deeper meaning”

Meanwhile Jay on the flip side, has no clue he’s even bi despite definitely having the passing thought that some guys are really cute but he doesn’t got time to dwell on that, not when he got himself a pretty dragon girlfriend. And for Nya, well, she never evened considered seeing Cole that way until that dumb soulmate machine claimed they’d be a perfect match and why would she when she’s perfectly happy with Jay? Honestly, Nya’s first instinct with the whole machine is to just write it off because that shit only has power over you if you let it. She winds up telling Jay about the incident cause she knows if she doesn’t, one of the students will (the little shits that they are) and then he’ll start overthinking it when he has nothing to worry about cause Nya still likes his corny butt. And even though they managed to mostly laugh it off, well now, she’s thinking bout it. And noticing things about Cole. The little things like how much of sweetheart he actually is. And then she notices how he treats differently he treats Jay compared to her brother and Zane and the cogs in her head start turning.

Meanwhile Jay- well, he’s trying to play it cool. Really he is! He appreciates Nya telling him what happened and appreciates the reassurance but well, when he thinks about who wouldn’t wanna be with Cole over him?! I mean, he can see the appeal. Cole is sweet, he’s strong, he’s got great music taste, he always let Jay steal some of his cake, and his muscles are really nice and huh, these thoughts are lingering a lot more then they probably should.

Long story short, instead of the soulmate machine causing a giant friendship/relationship ruining blow up fight, the main love drama of s3 of the Chimera au is Mudshock realizing they may be poly and the confusing will they-won’t they that ensues as the trio tries to figure out if they’re all on the same page.

The season 4 anon here. Just want to confirm a few things about your au cuz i think im cooking up smth in my brain about the scenario i gave you

Ok so first of all, i know Lloyd will stay a kid in this one thnks to your previous posts on this. So im assuming Nya will take his place in the tournament ? Like. She is the one competing instead of the child ? If so does this mean the infiltration crew will be the Chimera parents while Wu and Misako stay back in the city with Lloyd ?

Second of all. The other elemental masters are still the same right ? Or are there any oc additions ?

Third. Zane in general. No change to his plotline and how the ninja find out he is alive and in the island right ? But if so can you describe a bit ?

And lastly. Not really a question about the tournament. I just want to know what the Chimera parents opnions on the likes of Overlord/Crystal King, Morro or even Chen are. (Im just asking this because there are some villains with sooooooo many parallels potentials to the LMK's Rogue's gallery like Harumi.)

Before you ask. Yes. I might be writting something with the angsty prompt i given you last ask :)))))))) Google docs sure is a good friend in times like this.

So to begin, I love the idea of Nya being an active participant in the tournament. Even though she still technically operating as Dragon X at this point, in this au she did grow up actively using her water powers so why wouldn’t Chen invite her to participate? After Kai runs away from home, Nya joins her parent’s attempts to track him down. It isn’t until she teams up with Lloyd that she finally finds Kai participating in the underground fighting rings- although she doesn’t get the chance to tell on her idiot brother in between the Ninjas reunion at Chen’s noodles, the subsequent ambush, and invitation to the tournament of elements. And thought of going back home is forgotten in favor of finding out if Zane is alive.

Lloyd also receives an invite to the tournament as the green ninja (because you can’t tell me Chen wouldn’t bat an eye at a bunch full grown warriors trying to fight a child) but the Ninja and Garmadon ban him from participating, which is unfair! He’s just as much as part of this team as everyone else! Not to mention, he fought the overlord so he can totally win this thing- except everyone refuses to budge on their stance. Leaving Lloyd with no choice but to stow away on the ship to Chen’s island. Needless to say, his father and the Ninja aren’t pleased once they realized what he’s done. As for Chimera, they’re already up in arms when they realize they aren’t just missing one kid but two. So once they hear from Wu that Lloyd is also missing, well, they’re on a war path and on a special mission to infiltrate Chen’s island. Fortunately, Red’s past as a villain means they got connections to sneak in.

For your second point, yes! As it currently stands the elemental masters are still the same (Ray and Maya even still exist, they just aren’t related to Kai and Nya) and Zane’s backstory is unchanged, although he starts to piece together theirs something a little… off about his past a bit earlier in a canon after Mei fails to find anything about him in his background check in the aftermath of them meeting Chimera for the first time. Red had his suspicions too, especially seeing how Zane interacted with the bull clones but you can’t exactly ask your kids if you can crack their new friend open to see if he’s made of bolts and wires- at least not without getting yelled at.

As for Chimera’s opinion on the Ninja’s rouge gallery, it feels like every other week an old enemy of Wu’s is coming out of the woodworks and quite frankly it’s starting to feel a little ridiculous. At the very least, MK and Mei considers it a nice change of pace from having to constantly fight Monkey King’s recycled villains (and exes).

That said, the only villains Chimera really has a connection with from the Ninja’s rouge gallery are Chen- because Pigsy is locked in a one sided rivalry with the chain restaurant, constantly complaining about how they “don’t cook from the heart”- and the Time Twins, who commissioned a pre-redemption arc Red Son to work on some weapons and armor for their Vermillion army. Although once the others villains start trying to hurt their family, all bets are off the table. Especially when it comes to the overlord and Morro. Morro possessing Lloyd was personal.

is nya a daddys girl to both mk and redson and Kai a mammas boy to mei

Although Chimera love all their children equally, Nya definitely has her Bama (Red) wrapped around her finger. It’s only natural since she inherited her Bama’s interest in tech and Red is happy to have something to bond over with her, especially considering his own rocky relationship with PIF growing up. He just wants to show Nya the love and support he felt he never got when he was younger. Meanwhile Mei definitely fosters a lil adrenaline junkie in Kai, constantly taking him out for joyrides and bringing him to her races. She also tends to be a lil more lenient with Kai and Nya when it comes to rule breaking/bending because she remembers how stifling her childhood felt with all her responsibilities and her parent’s expectations. Which means MK sometimes has to pick up the slack and become the “responsible” parent since Dragonfruit sometimes lets Kai and Nya get away with more than they should.

(Although MK isn’t that much better- he’s definitely guilty of sneaking the kiddos a treat before dinner and taking them out to the anti-gravity arcade when they should’ve been in trouble)

Si in the au in which nya and Kai are the chimerashiping children how do their parents finde them and how do they start bonding as a family?

Oh shit! Someone is actually interested in my lil au, I never would've guessed!

So I will preface that I came up with this au back when I was only on S3 of Ninjago and I still haven't caught up on all the seasons. I've watched up to a couple of episodes in S8 before I got distracted by school but I do wanna see the show through! Okay, now that disclaimers are out of the way-

In my au, Kai and Nya were raised by Chimera from the start! Ray and Maya aren't in the picture, even as adoptive parents because I feel like there are too many potential baby hijinks I couldn't pass up on thinking bout with Chimera. So here are few baby hc's, just for you anon!

Red built a special babysitter bull clone just to look after Kai and Nya when they were little. With Kai and Nya discovering their elemental powers earlier than canon, the poor clone has been through the wringer.

MK and Mei nearly had a heart attack the first time baby Kai crawled through DBK's lava curtain cause they had no idea Kai inherited Red's resistance. Kai also inherited MK's stone monkey tendency to sink like a rock whenever he's in water- a discovery Chimera made during a visit to the weather station when Dragonfruit was trying to convince MK to put on sunscreen properly cause “we need to set an example for Kai! If you don’t take it seriously, he won’t either!”. Kai wandered off while they were bickering, eager to cool off and when they heard a little squeal and splash, Chimera jumped into a panic mood. Turns out he was fine but now Kai can't go near a pool without one of his parents hovering with some floaties lol

Mei initially had no intention of carrying any kids for the trio- at least until she held baby Kai in her arms for the first time and turned to Red like "I want one"

Toddler Kai and Nya have a dragon and monkey onesie respectively cause they wanted to look like their other mama/baba

Not baby related but I like to think in this au because Nya was raised by Chimera, instead of Samurai X, her mech is inspired by Mei's dragon heritage!
