POV: it's almost 10 PM and you're done for the evening with making adjustments for your current project, but you're not ready to retire for the night yet. An hour later:
I bought that printed panel before Christmas to make a shopping bag, but it turned out to be quite big (40x50cm), so I decided to try this kind of drawstring backpack. Then I had better things to sew, and also I waited for the rope to arrive. It did last week and well, I tried.
I like the result, I think the D rings I used at the bottom look really neat and "professional", considering. Now that I've tried, I will make another one for my mum (I bought two panels).
The funny thing is I don't exactly like these backpacks, I prefer either an elegant leather bag or an outdoor backpack with rain protection and such. Can't really see myself using that, except perhaps keeping it in my car as an emergency shopping bag. Still, it was fun to sew and it looks neat, even if it's not my style.
