Drawtober 16: Eye (See You)
The little one blinks awake, the cluster of eyes shining gold. The others watch, chittering, many eyes looking back, no faces to emote but the little one understood anyway. They blinked again and glanced around, taking in the wood underneath their waxy skin, the side of the crate that they were held in.
They peaked out, beneath the slat, where the light spilled over the others, warming them, encouraging more eyes to sprout.
They chittered back, blinking, allowing themself to feel the heat, to let their skin grow tight and crisp and feel the budding sprout of fresh new eyes.
