Helloooo... you know why I'm here... I have arrived with the hard questions... favorite Chilton: moment? episode? outfit? line? Hannibal season? I would love to know if we agree on any!
Thanks for the ask. I loved all of your answers!
Moment:I agree with you, every single scene is important. It’s one of thereasons people still discuss him, I guess, and why there’s alwayssomething new to discover although he only appeared in 12 episodes.Every line and every shot is packed with meaning. But since I have tochoose one. His angry outburst in The Number of the Beast. Yeah. Heallows himself to be so vulnerable in that moment and I just want toyell at the screen, “No bby, don’t let Lecter see youweak!“ (Too late already). And it’s one of the rare scenes that we get a glimpse of Chilton’s true character: jealous, driven, ambitious, hot, stubborn, sassy, … ugh.
Episode:Same here, Yakimono. I wish I could experience watching it again forthe first time. The whole subplot of Hannibal framing him isperfection: acting, dialogue, timing/build-up, and, as usual, greatcamera work.
Outfit: Entrée, in his office with Alana & Will. That striped shirt. (The perfectcurve of his perfect tum). Reading glasses! Grey pants. Belt. Jacketless. I can’t.
Line:I know I should pick something deep and meaningful, but “Ah,dinner’s served“ (Entrée) cracks me up every single time. Well thank you,Captain Obvious! This dork. (I also love the “stewed apricots“ one! It’s really dark, but also absurdly funny.)
Season:Season 1. Why? a) I love cuddly, “woobiefied” fanon!Chilton to bits, but I can’t resist the arrogant ass that he is in season 1. b) Beard. c) It sounds silly (we *are* talking about Hannibal here), but everything about the show wasmore light-hearted. It’s almost cute how oblivious he (and everyoneelse) is when it comes to Lecter.
