Stagnation in his own growth. Hakyeon is constantly pushing himself towards goals. Even on the daily, he sets minor goals for himself, things like hitting two more targets than the day before during archery practice, or something like holding a core position for working his abdominals for another ten seconds longer than the day before. Without these small increments of progress to mark his growth, Hakyeon’s self doubts will taunt him, making him question if life as a dragon rider is where he belongs. If perhaps this bond was meant for another, a stronger individual, one who would be more worthy of Nerezathe than himself. He might be demanding to those around him, requiring excellence of any who might ride by his side, but even that display is nothing compared to how hard he pushes himself.
