“Whatever you’ve decided to show me better be worth it, Doug, because it’s freezing out here.” Hands were shoved into coat pockets and Mark could see his breath every time he exhaled. He had no idea where they were going or what they were doing, but Doug was his best friend and he had made the - possibly stupid - decision to trust him. “At least tell me we’re almost there.” // @drdouglasross

Of all the people to be stuck in a broken-down elevator with, it’s Doug Ross. Despite her banging on the doors like they’re in a disaster movie, she’s quickly realising they don’t do anything quick at County. “Yep,” She lets out a defeated sigh before slumping down to the floor beside him. “Better buckle down and get comfortable because they don’t do anything quick around here, apparently.”

“Uh--” Although, with the dark bags under her eyes and the hair she had scraped in a bun, barely holding it together, she isn’t exactly feeling it. “Thank you?” She offers, but knits her eyebrows together, not exactly convinced of the compliment.

Max snapped his gloves on as he walked backwards into the exam room a smile on his face. “Alright so let’s see what we have he...” He paused when he turned around and saw the room empty. Oh that’s not good! 

He pulled open the door and jogged down the hall, sneakers squeaking on the semi wet floor. He held a hand up to call out to Carol but stopped when he felt a hand on his arm. He stopped walking and turned to look at Doug, a confused look on his face. “What do you mean, he escaped?” Max spoke, pointing a finger down the hall. “I thought you had Carter watching him.”

“you okay?”

“Nope,” she scoffs, not able to meet Doug’s eyes. She was shaking she was so mad. “I cannot believe she’s doing this. Throwing me out of the room, off the case, like I’m some med student. I can handle myself! I can control my emotions! I’m fine!”
