We're totally stoked to see Company Member and Resident Props Genius Dre Moore profiled in the Post today. It's well deserved - both for her work (which is exceptional), and also the general appreciation for Theatrical Properties, a field that doesn't get the respect it deserves.

So big ups to Dre, along with Company Members Jose Nunez and Colin Grube, and guest artist Patrick Lord, who have handled props for us in the past. When you see an amazing painting, or time continuum bomb, or super cute turtle in one of our shows - think about how awesome they are (after the show).

These are from awhile ago, but they are too cool not to share. Dale, Our protagonist in INCURABLE (written by Seamus Sullivan), works at an Art Gallery as a curator. Given how much of his worldview is based on and influenced by the art he spends so much of his time around, director Michael Saltzman had the concept that we should be seeing the world through Dale's eyes. To that end he and Set Designer Andrew Berry came up with the idea of using moveable paintings to set our various locations (the beach, Dale's apartment, etc.) - they give us a sense of place, but also keep us inside Dale's world. They were designed by Andrew and Props designer Dre Moore - who deserves incredible props herself for her tremendous work painting these guys (and all within only a few days!).
