anything she’d say, he’d believe...winter was adamant about that. least that’s the way it’s been played in the past and even now with their future falling into tight knit fruition; their thrones neatly shined for the new world takeover. though, winter, she had wanted a new world, a brand new beginning for all those who occupy this grand earth. however, the way that he, kai, had proposed a fresh contemporary universe, it was becoming stale and stale rapidly. her fear was that this would all end imperfectly, in opposition of her desires and his too, with him at the helm. visions for a better future would blind his path. it had already started.
the proof almost on display with the last minute experiment of a ménage à trois. and she would have went through with it. would have lain there if it meant that kai would be proud, would have been SATISFIED. a part of her, a whole part of her would have been disgusted with herself. disgusted with the fact that for a man, even her brother, that she would erase and counteract her internal beliefs of equality, of rising dominance for women. the very thought sickens her yet if the roles were reversed, if kai had taken samuel’s spot, it would have felt RIGHT. she had questioned it when kai had vocalized the suggestion, hinting but winter put the brakes on the very sinful, TAINTED proposition. because it was morally wrong or was supposed to be. she couldn’t quite wrap her head around that though, around these feelings that had been brewing for years, since october of 2015. though with these feelings there was a force of CONTROL. something that kai possessed, of course but winter, at her fingertips was soon to be the puppeteer.
his words, they now settle against her eardrum, comprehended and her mind is wiped free and void of any swirling thoughts. ‘ you’re witnessing what i’m willing to do, ’ she points out. her pinkie sheen with droplets of warmth from the connection of their skin. ‘ i’m going to be by your side no matter what, kai. ’ in a way this is a promise to the both of them despite her doubts, despite what she KNEW she had to accomplish. with his last settlement, it strung on his tongue, looming in the musty basement air. winter was aware he loved her. loved her like the younger sister she was, always. but the magnitude in which he does love, it’s foreign. the same for him presumably. ‘ it breaks my heart knowing that you don’t how much i’m willing to risk for you. how much i’ve already risked. how much done to show that i love you. we’re in the same boat, kai. we both don’t know how much we mean to each other, ’ they’ve been through it all. their parents' death, the trauma, the pain and now this, the dawn of the rightful invasion.
