dreadeddarkheart:
There had been moments – moments of questionable loyalty, but with Winter, he knew her heart was pure. That purity was one of the shining factors to why he trusted her so greatly, to why he loved her so completely and deeply. The way his heart swelled for the younger sibling, it was effortless and true – it went beyond the simple bounds of brother and sister – it was DNA embedded, it was in blood, that dripped the foundation of their bond. Even when they’d been small they were attached at the hip, mind-readers of sorts, the duo shared a language all their own. Now here they were, pinky to pinky, soul to soul, sharing in the depths of their depravity and inner mind’s workings. This was a sacred union, this was h o l y – their vows – u n b r e a k a b l e.
‘Swear it to me,’ he breathed, eyes becoming glassy once more, ‘swear it to me Winter, pledge your undying love for me.’ It was a tall order, and for anyone else in the young man’s life, a complete impossibility. ‘It’s impossible to love you,’ he’d been told that before in his life, but never once by his other half, never once would she be so cruel. ‘I want your word. I want your blood. I want your Goddamn soul,’ he remained calm, voice becoming sharp, but his eyes never once leaving her steely gaze. ‘I want every filthy thing you’ve ever thought. I want your world turned inside out. I want you alive and on fire. I want you….for me.’ He tightened the grip on their pinky-lock, elbow daring to falter on the rounded table, as he came even closer to the grey-headed beauty. ‘You told me you’d do anything for me,’ he shook his head, ‘but you couldn’t give me this.’ A tear fell from his dark eyes, face unshakable however, his features nearly stoic. ‘I wanted our love to grow. I wanted the world to have a savior. Our world. Our Savior. Our bounded bloodline. Why would you hurt me so? Why would you ever want to ruin this for us? We could be heroes, Winter, just like we both wanted. We could give life to a world so impure and tainted – why did you resist? Does giving birth to a holy being of light sicken you? After all we’ve done, this is your worst sin?’
SWEAR IT TO ME, the ultimate covenant, one that would bind them greater than the identical crimson coursing through hungry veins. it was the ultimate sacrifice. for her own personal cause, for the many women on this planet who felt defeat when the devil himself was announced as the leader of this repulsive world, but most of all for kai. she would be sacrificing her promise, their bond, THEIR LOVE. they were taint stricken, they were damaged, unsavory but together they were beautiful. in moments where winter wanted to deny, their virtue blossomed to the surface. HIS would rise. in kai’s chaos and destruction came a light that the younger anderson sibling could only wish to own. he was a follower of his own cause. something that winter was lacking.
‘ i swear it, ’ breath barely heard to even her own ears. eyeing their twisted fingers, winter looks up at her leader, her brother, the one she’d follow into the dark. ‘ i swear, kai. ’ you’re my god. even if i can’t convince myself. her ears are burning, bursting in flames from how his mouth concocts such meaningful construction of sentences. at times, winter couldn’t indicate just how serious her brother was. but here he is, laying everything out on the imaginary line, a line they were bound to cross if not currently, definitely later. off her tongue, the words of love formed. the air between them knows, he knows. making her repeat herself would only cement this reality. she craved it yet wanted to forget the feeling of not being able to help her brain and the yells from all angles. ‘ i love you. i don’t know how else to say it or show it but i love you, my dear kai. i love you so much. ’
leaning in, her pale lips reaches their formed union of hands. brushing softly, tickling feather like, her vision focusing on his scruffy chin, traveling the route of alluring flaws. ‘ i’ll give you everything. ’ you don’t even have to ask. for her sanity, she’ll make him. and he’d do it. with a snap of two fingers, kai would do it. it’s a lovely game they play. the power they both let seep into one another. it was her turn now. ‘ ask me. ask me and it’s yours. all of it. my love, my endless devotion — ME. ’ closing eyes off to the world, to her world, kai, she’s preparing herself for the deep seeded and heavy truth to spill. to splash and slosh around like a wave drowning them both.
‘ because he wasn’t you, ’ there it is. the verity of the situation. samuel wasn’t kai. he wasn’t strong, built to last, built to LEAD. why should he have the glory of the chosen ? among the fact that winter would be the sole possessor of mastery once she owned the heart of this wild man. lies after lies, ignoring inner turmoils of emotions, pushing aside her desires: the worst sins committed.
