Shin fiddled with the pack of cards in his hands. It wasn’t an ordinary deck of cards, but with the cards’ blue backs, it was easy to make that mistake. Each card portrayed an outfit that Shin had worn at one of his old agency’s concerts, dating all the way back to his debut as a rookie idol. Each card had an inscribed message from a fan who had seen the concert; making them an encouraging thing to look at when he felt down.
He wasn’t sad right now, but a wave of nostalgia had hit Shin strongly and he hadn’t been quite sure how to deal with it. The Dream Cards - as they were called at his old agency - had been stored in his coat pocket ever since he had come to Bellevue. His new concerts didn't need an extraordinary costume change or a way to catch the fans' cheers. He still remembered how amazed he was when he first used that mechanic at one of his live performances. But now... they were useless.
Having been so focused on the cards he held in his hand, Shin didn't even notice the person in front of him until he walked straight into them. The sudden force caused him to drop the cards and as they fluttered to the ground, Shin's stomach sank. It would take a long time to pick them up by himself. Bending down, he immediately began to do so, giving no thought to the person he had just run into.
A very in-depth guide to Dream Cards and other various features related to them. Sorry for the wait, everyone!
First off, you might be wondering: what exactly are Dream Cards? It's very simple, they're the cards you collect in this game that each represent a specific clothing item! They come in 5 types: Rock, Music, Melody, Pops, and Dance. There are also 4 varieties to collect: UR, SR, HR and R. Starting with the basics, there’s the main page that shows up after you tap the Dream Card tab from the main menu.
Level Up, where you use other cards and cheer boosters to level up the cards you want to keep and make stronger.
Evolve/Specific Character, where you use character specific items to upgrade cards you’ve already max-leveled through Card Evolution
Card List, where you take a look at all the cards you own and the album of all the cards in the game.
Sell Cards, where you literally just sell your cards that you don’t need or want.
Basic Card Evolution, where you use live-acquired items to raise the max level for any card.
Skill Level Up, where you use souls to level up a card’s skills
Coordinate, where you put your cards together to make outfits
Basics
Anytime you’re on your card list page, you’ll see a button in the upper right corner labeled ソート, or sort. This handy tool will help you find cards based on their rarity, level, AP, brand, category, idol, genre, or recency.
It’s worth noting that using only one brand, category or genre will give you an AP boost when playing lives.
Leveling Up
After selecting the card you’d like to level up, you’ll be taken to a screen that shows any Dream Cards you own that aren’t locked. You may select up to 5 at a time to use.
Keep tapping the blue button on the bottom right on any popup that shows up, and eventually you’ll be prompted to keep leveling up the same card or go back and select another. Select はい to stay on the same one and いいえ to choose a different one.
Evolve/Specific Character
This function can only be used if you have already max leveled and increased the max level of a card through Basic Evolution (the one that uses live-acquired items like towels, t-shirts, etc.). Here, you’ll use the character-autograph balls and the character food to change the skill that the card comes with. More information on this will be added after further investigation. when the admins collect enough items to be able to try it out
Card List
Tapping Card List will take you to a screen with two options: Card List and Card Album. The album shows a full inventory of all the cards you’ve acquired in addition to the IDs for cards you haven’t. Card List and Card Album both let you view the card art in full-screen and listen to the accompanying voice clip (if applicable), but you can only lock your cards in your Card List.
Tapping on any card will let you view its individual details:
Some older series, especially R, come with voice clips that you can listen to by tapping on the blue button located in the bottom right of the Card Detail page. The transcript for the clip is generally written on the bottom frame of the card art but on URs it’s written across the art itself in golden lettering. Event cards (so far) do not include voice clips.
Selling Cards
The Sell Cards page shows any cards that you don’t have in a coordinate or locked. The amount of FP you’ll receive by selling a card varies depending on rarity:
N: 100
R: 500
HR: 1,000
SR: 10,000
UR: 20,000
Even if you sell a card and don’t have any more copies, it’ll show up in the album but darkened out:
Basic Card Evolution
This tab allows you to raise the max level of any card you’ve already leveled to its limit by 5. Only cards you’ve leveled up 100% will show up here.
To raise the max level, in addition to Fanclub Points you’ll need live items like t-shirts, towels, and tickets. These you can acquire from playing daily and normal lives.
Depending on the rarity of the card, you’ll need a different amount of items to raise the max level.
Aside from the obvious AP boost, each card’s limit gets raised by 5 levels: UR→55, SR→45, HR→35, R→25
Skill Level Up
Leveling up a card’s skills will make them stronger, or trigger them more often during lives. A card’s skill level can be increased up to three times. To level up a card’s skill level, you need souls and Fanclub Points. Souls are those colorful spheres that drop after you finish a live. Souls with more stars will drop if you play a higher difficulty live, while souls of a certain genre will only drop if you play a song of that genre. You definitely won’t get any rock souls for playing Sakura Letter! Souls come in three sizes (small, medium, large), and five genres (pops, dance, rock, melody, music).
Every card requires at least 4 music souls to level up the skill. For R cards, you only need one soul genre to level it up; however, any higher rarity requires souls of the designated genre plus one more! Take note that the above jacket’s genre is pops, yet it calls for melody souls too.
Coordinate (Outfit)
This screen takes you to your Decks. Although there are other ways to change around the cards you’re using, this is the most recommended method.
To change a certain item, tap on the card and select the blue button. From there, choose the card you’d like to replace it.
Auto (おすすめ) creates outfits for you automatically based on whatever genre you choose. If you don’t have any particularly powerful outfits that overpower the auto feature, it’s useful for getting the genre AP bonus in certain songs. Personally, I’ve (Mono-san) found it to be fairly off-base as it usually resets my teams and makes them weaker.
Tapping on Coordinate Bonus Info tells you what bonuses you’ve activated for this certain coordinate. Maxing out every category will add 1,700 AP to your coordinate, not including the My Room bonus.
Extras/Tips
Going to My Room>Consumable Items>Skill Items will let you view all the souls, t-shirts, towels, food items and autograph balls you currently have. It’s a handy tool for checking your inventory!
You can view your My Room Bonus by selecting My Room on your homepage. The tab to the left tells you details on your bonus, like the names of the posters/badges you’re using, which idol they’re effective for, and what your combo adds up to.
Lock your cards so you don’t accidentally sell or delete them!
That’s the general gist! If you have anything to point out or add, not to mention questions, feel free to send out an ask!
