not to be Emo but this literally made me think of you guys going back up north for a couple of weeks in the summer to visit your families (pre-dating era) and you're not staying together for the first time in a long time and you're both so :(( about it even though you're only a few miles apart at most. you decide to meet up halfway through your stay and go on a little camping overnight trip (honestly just for some peace and quiet away from your families) - you borrow your dad's old hillwalking tent and matty sources a couple of sleeping bags from fuck knows where, and he picks you up and you do a little tesco run (the familiar domesticity of it and each other just calms you both down immediately) for snacks and sandwiches and some wine lol, before driving to a random bit of countryside and pitching the tent (with great difficulty) by a lake somewhere. and you sit in the evening sunshine and drink and have a little smoke and catch up on the events of the past week, and get tucked into the multitudes of sweets you bought before the wasps clock them. matty's probably also brought a guitar with him, so i think he'd definitely sing a bit and try to teach you how to play something, before it gets a bit chillier and your hands get too cold to do so. and then, when it gets dark, you and matty snuggle up on the blanket as you do often, looking up at the clear night sky and trying to name the constellations (thinking about katya zamolodchikova on UNHhhh shouting CASSIOPEIA on repeat lol). you don't notice, because you're too busy trying to find andromeda, but matty gives up on looking at the stars a few minutes into the stargazing to look at you instead, your hair messy and cheeks flushed and eyes sparkling and dimples visible when you smile - he's just so fucking in love with you. and he almost tells you, i think, before you both get spooked by some moths and decide to go into the tent and snuggle to sleep. yeah - it's all very soft and adorable and cosy <3

dream date: sneaking out with a boy and hanging out at the local skate park. drawing stuff on brick walls with spray paint, climbing trees and exploring places. holding his hand when you get scared, sitting on a rooftop and looking at the stars with him. feeling safe
It's almost 11pm and its still so warm out, not even a hint of a cool breeze.
It would have been the perfect night for walking around down town, along the water front, ugh
