So, this is an interesting thing that doesn’t come up enough to really stick in the mind: The connection between the waking and dream selves. When Dave first traveled back to the past and changed the timeline, he advised Rose to try and get to sleep so her dream self would be active, hoping it would cause her dream self to wake up earlier in the game, and...it seems to have worked? This sort of esoteric mechanic is probably a fantastic trick for Seers (and perhaps more likely to work for them), so...something to keep in mind, if you have to change a whole timeline around. Definite benefit to keeping as many ‘selves’ alive as possible, as long as possible!

SPOILERS FOR THREE LIVES TO RETURN

chapter one 

- impulse wakes up on a new server (the 3rdlife server) that he’s never seen before

- he recalls the meteor attack that wiped out hermitcraft and killed the 2/3 of the active hermits who weren’t able to escape in time

- after a roll call in chat, he sets off and eventually finds day one “team hermit”

chapter two

- grian accidentally kills scar

- scar wakes up on prospit after dying, flies back to the server, and freaks out everyone

- grian confesses to scar that he’s been sleeping on prospit his whole life and they form the desert duo alliance as grian’s apology

- skizzleman dies to an enderman and wakes up on derse, flying back to the server as well

chapter three

- bdubs gets knocked off his tower by a phantom, dies, and wakes up on prospit

- he sure does take his time exploring

- scar is cold.  that’s literally it

- grian is scared to wake up on prospit again and ends up not sleeping at all.  he’s being very unhealthy

chapter four

- joel is still grieving, so a series of events causes him not only to make a glitch that will drive the rest of the plot BUT ALSO trap himself in it.  you’ll hear from him later don’t worry he’ll be fineeeeee

im telling you he’s perfectly fine

- etho turns out to be a derspite and, guided by both skaia and the extremely trustworthy horrorterrors (the latter before the glitch made the thing he was told to do an EXTREMELY bad idea), takes tango down to a cave to kill him

- we don’t hear anything about those two for 2 full chapters because plot tension

chapter five

- it turns out that joel’s glitch turned the server into full traditional-ish sburb, with lands and consorts and imps.  land lore ensues

- the renchanting duo enjoys the spoils while the desert duo either starves or scams people for petty vanilla resources

- it turns out joel woke up on derse (!!) after glitching.  he’s assumed to not be dead and just in a glitchy coma on the server

- he’s unable to leave his tower and is incredibly bored

- castle gang is just chilling until an alarming message shows on communicators

- what does it say?  we don’t know!!!!!!

chapter six

- i troll the readers and show the desert duo instead of telling them what happened to tango and etho

- grian is enjoying a villain arc and convinces scar to come with him to god tier because of something he saw in skaia

- everyone (the readers) suddenly realizes that that’s probably what tango and etho are doing 

chapter seven

- it turned out to actually be what tango and etho were doing

- etho kills tango on his quest bed

- tango god tiers as a witch of time and immediately kills etho using super cool time powers

- luckily etho still has another dream self to spare so i can kill him again without even making my readers sad

- the castle gang takes refuge in the castle because they don’t want to get murdered

- then they let scott and jimmy in for literally no reason other than plot importance (which you’ll see later but don’t worry about that for now)

- meanwhile, scar and grian reach grians quest bed

- scar and grian have a moral debate after reading chat and grians villain arc intensifies

- scar commits arson.  super unpredictable stuff here

- grian fights his way through the fire and dies on his quest bed

- he god tiers as a prince of breath and suffocates scar for no reason

- unlike tango, he immediately feels guilty for what he’s done and puts scar on scars quest bed

Dreamselves’ pajamas

First we have this style, with the long-ass skirt that seems really popular with Prostpitan girls

Another popular one is this one with tights and a long t-shirt.

The Dersite guy’s favorite look is a somewhat long t-shirt and pants with two stripes on the side, I initially though only Sollux had the two stripes, but it’s really popular. Shout out to Eridan for the accessories. I imagine his dreamself wears jewels too.

Then we have these girls who are too proud of their sense of style to change their skirts from what their normal selves wear. Although I think  Aradia is wearing a dress, torn on the same way her ghost self’s skirt is.

And I want to point out that all male charcters wear a long t-shirt with a straight bottom hem, or a shorter model that seems tucked into their pants, and Karkat is the only exception, wearing the longer triangular at the bottom model, worn by Kanaya, Terezi and the Lalondes.

It’s also worth noting that the players wear the same model as their dancestors do. That’s also true for the trolls, as we see them in Ministrife, the Only exception is Porrim, who uses a yellow version of her dress, much like how Kanaya did with her skirt.

But since that’s the case, June+Jane should be wearing the same thing, while Jade+Jake wear eachother’s outfits, since y’know, Jane took June’s role post scratch as Jake did with Jade, so either the Harlenglish would be wearing long ass skirts, or the Crockegberts would, but the world wasn’t ready for that I guess.

And now for the shoes. Striders wear orange, Lalondes hot pink, Jane+Jade wear pastel pink and June+Jake pastel blue. All trolls wear their typing colors, except Vrisrezi who both wear red, and Aradia Goth Queen who wears black.

Also look at Equius’ shorts. I thought they were poofy pants at first, but he’s doing the Feferi/Kanaya/Aradia thing of staying true to his style even in dream form.

Anyways, here’s just all of them on a messy edit just to like, see all the similarities.

The final secret version for the friendsim! Loved it! I now like Chixie, and no longer see her as a culmination of the things I hate about myself! she’s something to aspire for. Zebruh, on the other hand, can rot in hell. I hope Chixie knocks him into the furthest ring with her mic.

Oh yeah, while I was doing research for the Eirin thing, I happened to find this in the BAiJR article:

The Dream World is another self, says Yagokoro. If the dream is too enjoyable, there's a chance that the real world and the Dream World may switch places, so one must be careful of overdosing.

So the dream selves of AoCF were already a thing in Touhou, including t he idea of switching places with them. The foreshadowing! Too powerful!

Relating to the drawing of my god tier; I think that dream selves can sometimes look vastly different to the player's origional self, and also change more over time. Because the way i see it, your dream self is your sunconscious visualisation of yourself. Its how you want to look, or perhaps more accurately how you feel you should look. Naturally god tiers share this as one ascends through their dream self, meaning your god tier looks exactly how deep down you know you should look.

Sometimes I start thinking about the difference between Derse and Prospit Dreamers and begin to feel incredibly ill

Some old art/concept sketches I never bothered to post. Before I got hit with Cuphead fever, I wanted to try a crossover in which characters from Pokemon Sun and Moon, Rick and Morty, and Jak and Daxter find themselves in a Homestuck-esque adventure, but it was way too big a project and school was going on. I got as far as figuring out session players, their God Tier titles, Derse/Prospit alignments, usernames/typing quirks, planets, weapons of choice, and even a couple plot ideas before putting the project in my list of “things I might return to but don’t fucking bet on it”.

As for order in which the Dream Selves awaken, well, here’s what I planned for both Pre- and Post-Scratch.

Pre-Scratch

Daxter awakens first. He was probably even awake on Prospit before this whole charade went down.

Morty is next, awakening before starting his copy of Sburb 2.0 (that’s what they were using in this plot) the next morning with Rick.

Plumeria awakens on Derse after entering the game about in close proximity to exploring her planet for the first time.

Jak and Guzma awaken on Derse and Prospit well into the first few levels upon discovering and exploring their planets.

Rick is the last to awaken around the time he finds the ectobiology lab.

Post-Scratch

Mar (in this session, the ancestor-descendant order is reversed with Jak) awakens on Derse first and has probably been awake since the Great Metalhead War years before the session becomes active.

Willow (in this project he’s the true father of Guzma, parentage reversed in this session) awakens on Prospit at some point after obtaining his copy of Sburb 2.0 Alpha.

Morty’s Post-Scratch self awakens on Prospit next, the day before his Rick gets their copy of Sburb 2.0 Alpha.

Eudoxus (Daxter’s ancestor, descendant order reversed in this session) awakens on Prospit after entering the game for the first time.

Lavender (in this project she’s Plumeria’s mom, parentage reversed in this session) awakens on Derse after exploring her planet for the first time.

Rick’s Post-Scratch self is the last to awaken on Derse upon completing the First Objective on his planet.

Maybe I’ll do the Post-Scratch players later, but for now, take this. And I wanted to customize their Dream Self outfits a bit more so they wouldn’t be so bland.
