I can’t swim I’m drowning in my sorrows as the bright lights go dim I need a savior, but I’m no damsel in distress The only savior is in my head But he’s lying on the floor, dead ‘Get up!’ I yell to him, knowing he can’t hear me Blood rushes to my face knowing I can’t save myself I used to think, hey how hard can it be? But now, I see Now I believe, no ones got it easy People who have everything are stereotyped as perfect But if they whine, they’re ungrateful and don’t deserve it Don’t you see? These comments are what tear others down Society isn’t perfect, so how can they be The stresses get to everyone, that’s where depression may come in The stresses get to everyone, that’s where anxiety may win But don’t let it, please We all make mistakes, my confidence in myself is long gone, but in society we need to stop being hopeless And we need to dream less If you want to make it happen, be a dream taker
