Idk if you know of the IceyPie creepypasta “Dreamcube” but the end bit kinda made me want to do a little expansion of the tree story with a few other characters
Three other kids from the neighborhood also tried to climb the tree: Their names were Arty (Atari), Dee (3DO), and Phil (Phillis CDI)
Arty was the first to ever climb the Competitor’s Tree before Sammy and Nicholas ever came around. A prideful and boastful one who thought he was on top until one day he took a massive fall. He lived but was severely hurt. Which caused most of the other kids to stop climbing for a long time.
But Arty would not give up. He would keep on climbing even if he couldn’t despite the doctor’s warning but every time he would keep falling, over and over, making himself already worse than he was in. Until he made his final climb and final fall. Arty was paralyzed, no longer able to walk or move much but would still live, but now focuses on lesser things with the others looking up to him for his stories of greatness.
Dess was a rich, yet generous kid who thought they could win over others that they could make a mark by climbing the tree. Yet things went horribly wrong when nobody showed up and they fell, never to get up.
Phil was an odd one, a smart kid but one who was often prone to being manipulated. A deal with Nicholas to climb the tree together but would soon be sidelined and left to his own devices. As an apology, Nicholas let Phil have some of his toys. Yet the toys that Phil was given were not of the highest quality. Phil never climbed very far and would soon abandon the tree altogether to focus on other things.
