Stalwart

Mickey straightens his jumpsuit and flattens down his hair. “Do I look okay?” Sure, life down in Mexico has aged him a little. His laugh lines are a little more pronounced and he has the beginnings of crow’s feet. But he also fell back on old habits; stealing, scrapping, and living rough like a feral cat on the loose. That’s not the Mickey he wants Ian to see. If Ian’s off his meds like he suspects, then he needs to be the version of himself Ian believes he can be: the stalwart Mickey who can be strong for them both.

@dreamjupiter @galladrabbles This one is set in my Curtains!/Techies Do It In The Dark continuity. Mickey and Mandy spent their tween and teen years raised by relatives out of state, so Mickey actually has a much healthier home life than Ian.

Love Language

“More potatoes, Ian, dear?” Asks Aunt Elaine. Ian feels put on the spot. He doesn’t know why he feels so self-conscious. Mickey and Mandy’s adoptive parents have been nothing but welcoming. But seconds at home are a rarity. Another helping makes Ian feel like a wild pig eating them out of house and home. “Um… I couldn’t,” he answers demurely. Mickey wraps an arm around him. “She’s not gonna bite, big guy.” “I’m trying to be a good guest.” Mickey grins. “Pro tip: my aunt’s love language is fattening us up.” Elaine is already ladling out some more au gratin.

@dreamjupiter @galladrabbles Another entry for the week. I have a soft spot for the brazen amount of eye fucking Mickey Milkovich does during the dugout scene in season 2.

Shotgun I do a fucking good job at playing it cool. Other than the losers I’ve banged in juvie, who don’t even count, nobody even knows I’m into dudes. And nobody except Gallagher knows I like getting railed till I squeal. No, I keep things under the radar, and I plan on keeping it that way.   But the way his adam’s apple bobs up and down while Gallagher shotguns that Old Style’s just makes me, fucking feral. I’m just about ready to pounce like a bitch in heat.  “...Mickey?”  “You gonna keep chit-chatting or are you gonna get on me, Army?”

@dreamjupiter @galladrabbles. Sometimes, I think of how they styled season one Mickey and the implications created when we see just how much cleaner he looks when Ian meets him later in juvie.

Clean

Mickey steps out of the shower, towel around his midsection. Ian averts his eyes, holding up some clean clothes.  “Thanks,” Mickey whispers accepting the garments. “You know, you’ve had your dick in me, man. You're allow to see me naked.”  Ian meets his gaze.  “Sorry. You just look...”  “Clean? Yeah.” Mickey’s cheeks pinken. “I know I look kinda feral sometimes. But living on the street’s easier than with my pop.”   “You could always stay here. With me.”  “Don’t be such a queer, Gallagher.”  “I’ve had my dick in your ass. On multiple occasions. I’ll be as queer as I want.”

Okay, @dreamjupiter, you got my juices cooking with this week’s @galladrabbles prompt.

Fur Babies “Where’s my baby girl? Aw, and here comes trouble.” Missy and Tugger pad sweetly up to Mickey when he arrives home, meowing innocently. The little beggars put on the charm as soon as they hear his Ford Fiesta pull up out front. Mickey reaches for their treats before even taking off his coat, doting over the Maine coon and tuxedo cat like they hadn’t treated Ian like the feral little beasts they are all evening. “Were my fur babies well-behaved, E?” “Good as gold,” Ian lies, knowing better than to badmouth Mickey’s babies. It’s his way of keeping the peace.

Galladrabbles: Dancing (Part 12)

Last one for the week, I have to thank @dreamjupiter and @galladrabbles for providing me with the flimsy excuse to set my drabbles in the world of my first long fic, Hold Me Closer, Tiny Dancer.

“Your hammies are too fucking tight, babe,” remarks Ian, working over his husband’s sore muscles after a grueling two-performance day of La Bayadère. “What about my glutes?” Mickey jiggles his ass flirtatiously. “I’m being serious, Mick! You need a rest week.” “I finally get a male lead and you wanna sideline me.” “I’m your physio. Do you want to listen to me now or wait until you hurt yourself and you’re out for the season?” “Hm. Well, I guess a week in bed isn’t the worst thing ever.” “That’s what I wanna hear.” Ian simpers and attends to Mickey’s glutes.

“Can I use my power of veto?” Mickey scowls. Mister Mistoffelees is a dream role. He’s been working towards this ever since he was seven. “Absolutely not.” “You’re a cat, Mick.” “I’m a Jellicle. Get it right,” Mickey purrs defiantly. He experimentally pirouettes and gets whipped by his tail. He’ll need to work on that. “How am I supposed to take you seriously like this?” Mickey shrugs. “I’m wearing less makeup than when I do drag.” “Yeah, but you’re still a human.” “You know I’m going to come up with a drag cat character just to annoy you now, right?”

@dreamjupiter's Dancing prompt for @galladrabbles sparked something and I ran with it. Took much editing (I am a wordy motherfucker by nature), but I got that word count to 100.

Lip closes the front door behind him and walks toward the kitchen, where the music's coming from, stopping before he gets close because he knows what he's seeing isn't for him to see.

Ian and Mickey, dancing. One of their arms wrapped tight around the other, free hands clasped together. Ian's got them cradled right over his heart.

Their eyes are locked, complete devotion in their gaze, and Lip gets it, gets them for the first time. It really has only ever been each other for them.

Song's appropriate, he thinks, leaving them to it.
