And doing a bit of catching up since Tweetmon was shown a while ago but I'm including it alongside Mediamon's Fusion partner

maybe attacks have types distinct from interest types so then like... like attack types only go offensive & interest types go defensive.
which is to say like if you had a flame attack then maybe if a dreammon's interest type was botany it would be weak to it. or a plant attack defeats a construction interest. something like that.
'myth,' 'fantasy,' 'imagination,' even 'wish' ... these things could function as species catagories...
uwawawawa... possible mechanics overhaul.
maybe dreammons do have distinct species rather than randomization... all based on myths or things that kids like to imagine exist/pretend are alive (so like fairies or the running-on-the-side-of-the-road-while-you-are-in-a-car person or a plush toy). this would make the creation of a concise index possible, as apposed to previously where they, can't be indexed normally.
and then the person they befriend still influences their traits as they grow..?
this sort of thing might also make elemental types easier to assign...
