I can't stop thinking of this piece from Wendy C Ortiz's Bruja. It's affect on me, the chilling unmemories and haunts that it conjures up for me, reminds me that the thing about dreams is sometimes we share them, because they're made of symbols. Symbols are universal. Belonging. They're spirits way of guiding us back to us, and the road is often the same road to the other side of the belonging. The unbelonging. That's where the best of us are, the unbelonged, untouched, the placenta removed, but not ever misplaced. This is a really good book of brujería.
