The Tower isn't a place that Blaise can call home. Truthfully, he hates it there. He spends long weeks in the field, finding shelter when he can, only visiting the Last City when he absolutely needs to. The Vestian Outpost isn't that much better. All he hears is Awoken complaining, either about the Wolves or Guardians. He can't win either way.

But there is one thing the Reef has that the Tower doesn't. Variks. He's gotten to know him over the last few months, and he's really the only reason he ever finds himself going out of his way to the Outpost.

As his ship drops him off, he hurries to cross the platform, keeping his head down so not to attract Petra's attention. She hasn't tried to speak with him in some time, but he wants to take the precaution. She is not someone he is very fond of. Killing and more killing. That's all she wants him to do. Perhaps he just isn’t a very good Guardian, because he hates hurting anyone. It isn't in his nature.

It takes little time to make it to Variks, and thankfully he's alone. "Variks!" He says, a ring of complete innocence to his voice. He takes off his helmet and his Ghost dematerializes it instantly. "It's been awhile! I wanted to check up on you." That and he had something for the old Eliksni. A gift. He would wait for a reply first though. Didn't want to overwhelm him with too much off the bat. Blaise was good at doing that to people.
