Coming from a Mexican heritage, my family isn't used to the way I dress. It always annoys me when they call me a "chola" (translation "gangster") by the way I dress, style my hair, do my makeup, and listen to the bands that I listen to. Every time when I go visit my aunt and uncle my mom always says "Look at your gangster nieces" (because my sis and I dress somewhat alike) she doesn't mean it like "Oh look how cool they look/are" no, she means it in a bad way. I don't know if this also happens to other Hispanic/Latino people who dress somewhat similar as I do or better. They also know that I want to get piercings and tattoos sometime in the future, which they also find it bad and "sinful" or the "work of the devil" or "It's gang related" they find it so bad that they don't want me around if I ever get any tattoo or piercing, it's really getting annoying. They are so close minded about how we dress and listen to.
That's the rant of the day.
