it’s no secret that drew thrived at work . the competition , the drive to do better than her competitors ... or well , just vicky , really . while she didn’t really , truly dislike the woman ( sometimes it felt pretty damn close , probably due to how similar they could be when it came to competition ) . thankfully , she wasn’t one to take her work home in the sense of the shit she put up with as far as her coworkers & such went . physical work ? oh , she absolutely took that with her . read up on some drafts , do some editing , among the list of many things she brought home to work on . but her feelings about her coworkers ? she left that at the door of her work . for the most part ... she may or may not vent over drinks to some friends , but she would swear that’s the only time she vented her frustrations ... & usually , it was only ever about vicky ( they were in the running against one another when it came to book publishing's about fitness & diet two things drew was also passionate about & occasionally had input towards ) .
the woman was her only real competition & drew always set out to get her own findings , authors & pieces published over hers in the few times they were competing against one another. when she succeeded , she had a signature , smug grin on her face .
today , was one of those days . at least , drew felt as though it would be . their editor in cheif was looking for a book on advanced yoga & when drew heard that she was in . yoga was one of her bigger hobbies outside of work & she knew plenty of authors that had great drafts out , looking for that break through to get published . both having turned in worthy pieces ( she was sure , vicky was her biggest competition at work for a reason after all ) , drew is feeling particularly confident in her pick . “ i’ll have you know , my author deserves this win so when yours takes second to mine , i will absolutely say that i told you so . ” she tells vicky as they are leaving their editor in cheif’s office & both seemingly heading back to their desk . which were far too close to one another , in drew’s opinion .
