One time I went to John K's blog and he had a big post about old pulp covers where monsters are in love with women, and it was all good fun, riffing on how corny it was, but then he ended with "If the modern animation industry was in charge it'd be like THIS!" and showed a bunch of pictures where monsters were abducting men and I was like... you just had to fill your Homophobia Quotient huh buddy.

If you’re talking about modern cities as opposed to medieval fantasy or the like, I’d actually recommend Damnation City for Vampire: the Requiem of all things. In between the vampire-specific stuff there are some great guidelines for constructing a city based on neighborhoods and landmarks.
