Psspsppss..
Something about peacock spider mating dances? I love seeing those little guys and their colorful flaps and little legs. On another note, would a peacock spider be shorter than the average human? That would be pretty cute.
Oh! I love these little guys!
They are so pretty, and the difference between each ones colours/pattern is so cool!

In your eyes the two of you had been dating for about a month now, it was slow, sweet, and entirely what you needed after the run of shitty dates you'd had prior. Sure he's small for a drider, but you'd grown incredibly fond of the small monster.
The only thing that you felt lacking was more physical affection, sure, he kissed you and held your hand but any attempts to go further were met with soft rejection. You're happy to wait but the constant rebuffs are a little disheartening, you'd done so much to make sure this worked out and this one little thing was what may end up fracturing the peace you have. A full month in and he'd still pull back the moment you tried to slip your tongue into his mouth, or drag your fingers down past the meld of chest and thorax, you'd be perfectly understanding if he just didn't want or wasn't interested in going further, but he never said anything.
In his eyes however, the two of you are still too early in the courtship for him to freely give you the affection you're clearly seeking.
But that would change tonight, he'd been practising and was finally ready to make a proper display of his intentions to you. His home is fully set up, dinner is underway, and there is enough space in his living room for him to move freely, it's all coming together perfectly as he opens the door for you. The meal is perfect and despite the nerves he feels, he feels like he's making the right choice when he pulls you away from the dishes settling you on the couch as he presses play on the small soundbar he had set up.
He moves through the first few steps, watching the confusion on your face slowly shift into wonder as he keeps moving, the dance becoming more and more clear as he flares the colourful flaps that he'd preened just for this, just for you.
Finishing the whole display with a deep bow and full flare of the colourful part of him meant for this, looking up at you he waits, smiling shakily as you get up and step closer, curiously asking what that was all about, calling it lovely and complimenting the vibrant colours you can now see, eyes going wide as he pants between explanations about courting intent and mating displays for his kind.
The squeak he lets out when you wrap your arms around him and pull him in is high pitched, but before long you're kissing him, giddy as he lets you deepen the kiss, getting a very enthusiastic response from him as your fingers scratch along the line of his back.
