I have Many questions about all of drift and i know this ignores din but i simply need to know more about mech and peli please 👀

she didn’t want you on her mech team initially

she’ll deny it now but she was honestly Not Thrilled at the idea of taking on a mechanic without the qualifications the rest of the team had

your experience up until that point was vehicle maintenance, which is a little bit more than a leap and a bound away from jaeger engineering

but she had orders and those orders included being your boss

and you were eager and ready and far more knowledgeable about the mechanics than she thought you would be

doesn’t mean she didn’t push you to your wits end, far more than she did anyone else

because, not that she tells a lot of people, but she never went to school for rig mechanics either. so she knows that not only do you have the stomach and the drive for it, but you have something to prove

peli is the reason you’re as good as you are at what you do. she’d kick your ass if you weren’t at least as talented as she is after all the work she put in to train you

that’s why she nominates you for the team leader position when she gets wind of a new jaeger

you might not know it yet, but you’ve been working your whole life to get to this point

she’s never claimed to have favourites but there’s not a single other mech on her team that she’d rather have rebuild a rig from the ground up besides you

she was never going to tell you that she’s the one who got you promoted, that she’d have fought the other coordinators with her bare hands if it meant you got the spot (she didn’t have to, words were enough)

but when you’re sitting in the mess hall, twiddling the same egg noodle around your fork for ten minutes and wondering if you really can do this

“I wouldn’t have put you up for it if I didn’t think you had it in you.”

and that’s all the motivation you need to crack open a toolbox and start gutting the Razor Crest

We know W.Bon's version of the story, so what's Drifts version?

"I guess you mean the story about how we met... Well, I dont know what he told you, but here's how it was from my point of view:

It was the year after my accident, like exactly one year after it. I remember I went to get in a nearby music shop a CD my brother asked me for, and in the shop I got distracted, the feeling of someone being too close to me scared me and I ended up bumping onto Wilbur (who you mean as W.Bon). He looked nervous and overwhelmed, I guessed he didnt like public spaces...

I left the shop shortly before him and went to get my car at my apartment complex's parking. Then, on my way to work, still in Ota City, I noticed a red RAV4 MK1 struggling to turn on in a parking area nearby said music shop. As a mechanic, I felt the need to help. I pulled over and went to check, only to see him again. Since he was in a hurry, I offered to drive him to his destination, and then fixed the car during that day, wich had the starter worn out.

Some days later, he appeared on my shop again. He wanted to thank me and pay the repair, but honestly, I didnt got his money for that car, after all I didnt have trouble fixing it, and something about how shy he looked made me feel pity, remembered me of myself when I came to Japan. He came the next day, and the next, and so for some time, each day we talked a bit more until it became a conmon thing.

He got interested on cars after coming here for a year, maybe a bit more. One day we went for a run on a road near his house, up "Yabitsu" touge. Then, next day, he asked me how I did it, how I was so fast. I told him my answer, and to help him understandnit, I prepared the R33 as his birthday gift (right as I said before). Each work on that R is paid only with his enjoyment.

We never really asked eachother to be friends, I guess it just happened. He's nice, I enjoy his company, I wouldnt leave him for anything, it would break my heart. He's so inocent, and seems to look up at me, I would feel bad disapointing him in the slightest."

If Drift and W.Bon arent dating, then they're just closer friends? Because sometimes you drew them two being really close (not literally speaking) and acting like if there was more than friendship between them, and its confusing...

Well, I cant tell if you're annoyed of confused, I'll take it as the 2nd... Also, I understand you refer to the prev ask related with this.

Answering you, Daniel and Wilbur's relationship is just friendship, yep, really close friends. Of course, they care a lot about the other, to the point of spening a night on the other 's house if needed. In Wibur's house, Drift tipically sleeps on the couch (there last weeks doodle, wich btw, Daniel had his streetwear on, just the bandana off), while the other way around, Daniel doesnt have a sofa, Wilbur sleeps on the floor next to Dani's bed.

Yep, sometimes they care about eachother way more than friends do, but because they think of the other as a brother (for refering to it somehow) more than just friendship.

Also also also, important fact... W.Bon could be defined as someone who has never felt "love" like we all know. He doesnt feel interested by that stuff. Drift, on the other hand, fell in love in the past, but never for the faceless rabbit.

If something, their relationship could be considered as something platonic, but they're just really good friends

Toy chica, in my au, named Naomi, is an Osaka mechanic, daughter of an ex rally driver. Pasionated about the car world since she was a little girl, she started working on her familly's workshop, and never stopped even after getting offers from better workshops. That little workshop is all she desires.

Apart from cars, her likes arent many more. Strenght sports like weight lifting or weight launching, or martial arts. She practices some of these at home, but she cant be called a profesional (not that she does). Her favourite music genre is Reggateon, favourite artist is "Wissin & Yandel". Hates clasic music and any slow stuff like clasic dance, but what she hates the most is being corrected.

She liked her father's rally car, a Renault 5 Turbo (and, in general, she liked that brand), so when she got the chance, and because that's a rare car in japan... She made her own one! Tubular chasis, carbon fiber body, and a V6 3.2l N.A. engine are the main things that make her car what it is, the most extreme build she made.

That car was her entry to autocross races, getting popularity... Then, whem she wasnt on a race or working, she was on Kanjou highway testing her setups. There she is a cannonball, using her autocross experience to swing around traffic. Her philosophy is that to be the fastest you need hability... But that will change once she meets our tokyo racers...
