The first time traveling in Indonesia, and visiting Canggu changed a lot for me. I remember one of the first coffee stops that I made, I met @ardabuanna when he was working in one of the smallest cafes around. Many years later, being friends, doing competitions, making memories and having a great time, I had the chance to take his portrait for the latest edition of @driftmag Bali. On the border of Petitenget and Seminyak, I took some photos of Darrell for @driftmag Tucked away and easy to miss, in the midst of the busy Balinese streets, you find this little japanese inspired cafe called Mannaka. I’ve been coming there since the beginning and would stop by every other day or so. Always greeted with a smile by him or fellow owner Christian. Another great friend I got to follow around for @driftmag was @kevin_khedy Whenever I would walk into @alteregocanggu and see his happy face, you knew you were in for a good time! Even when working fulltime is the standard, he finds time to go out most days, before or after work, and surf. Always happy, always cheerful, never a bad moment this guy. Not too long ago, it seemed that a couple of my absolute favorite things came together. Coffee, photography and traveling met, and I was very fortunate to get the chance to shoot a photo essay for @driftmag Not only was I able to shoot for an amazing magazine that I had been following since the beginning, I was also able to capture some of my greatest friends in my home away from home. One of them is Edo. Cafe owner, roaster, brewer, madman, genius, but most of all, a really good friend. Who I have been fortunate enough to have by my side ever since I came to Bali. Many years have passed since! All filled with amazing adventures, crazy stories, lots of laughs, and making many more life-time friends. I feel very honored to give him a well deserved place in the Bali edition for Drift mag.
