"What are the three things that you stand by in life?"
“I love God and I stand by God. I believe that he created me to live for him and to do his will. By being in a relationship with Him, that is my ultimate decision-maker and everything I live by.”
The second thing is to love others. To do so, you need to get to know people well in order to truly love them and show that they are cared for.
The last thing is to cherish every moment and every season. There are ups and downs, but you just have to cherish them because they are ultimately going to make you a better person.”
It's taking every ounce of my self control to not bust out the air guitar while listening to my music on the drill field
Day 35- Friday June 29, 2012
So it turns out that last night/this morning a girl was almost abducted & murdered here on Tech campus. B.e.a.uuuuuutiful...
THAT sure makes me feel better about being here. I mean honestly the VT Massacre, the beheading, the shooter that just walked on campus and now this. Yea that will make my parents feel better about me being here. Could you imagine what it would be like if Tommy where to find out about it?
He would have a heart-attack and refuse to talk to me until I got home and that would only lead to him freaking out more because I wouldn't leave. I'm going to start like legit caring my knife with me at all times on the off chance that something were to go down. Better safe & alive than sorry & missing
We went and saw Radford University today.. I liked it but again it's one of those colleges that doesn't have a culinary program so there's really no point. My God it was so freakin' hot too.. I thought I was going to melt.
But walking to McDonald's did help because Kelsey bought me a tea and we got to sit in there for an hour. (: It was considerable cooler when we left but it was still pretty freakin' hot out. We got about half way back when Skippy & Mellissa decided they wanted to sit down and talk some more.
So Kelsey and I took up the second bench and played around with our phones up until hers died. We then proceed to listen to music on my phone until they were ready to head back.
They couldn't have picked a better time too because whatever storm had been brewing was started to blow in and hard.
The wind started sweeping through the streets picking up dirt, leaves, small rocks, pretty much anything in it's path. At one point we were speed walking down the main road and looked behind us. It was so ominous; dark sky, leaves, flickering lights, no cars, one guy running towards us.
So naturally we all panicked and started running for the drill field. As we ran a tree limb about a thick as my arm just fell out of the tree due to the force of the winds. I'm freakin' out, my panties won't stay up, I'm fat & winded, there was dust in my eyes it was terrible.
We made it about half way across the drill field before we all slowed down. We all had the panicked & winded laugh about us as we bee-lined it for West Egg. Then all the lights on the drill field just went out. There was no little flicker they just shut off and we ran and didn't stop 'til we reached the other side across from the dorms.
After we were done tweaking out over that and were able to make it back to our rooms Kelsey and I whipped down with a wash rag & toned my hair before settling down to watch Iron Man with Kelsey.
I feel asleep on her.. :p
When I forget it's elections day, so I walk to the drill field, and see tents everywhere
