#DrinkandDrawNYC was last night and I haven't had a chance to go every month as of late, but this is from the last time that I was there. These drawings are of @umep3 who is an amazing model who has a strong physic and uses her angles extremely well. I always enjoy drawing her and believe that that I get better every time I draw her. Each subsequent image is from 2 minute poses, then 5 minutes, 10 minutes and then a 20 minute pose. I draw them all on my #SurfacePro utilizing my #wacom tablet. I use to draw these by hand, scan them and then compile them as you see here, but drawing them digitally allows me to build that experience and not have to take more time than necessary to create. . . . I always feel sad when I miss #DrinkandDrawNYC for a multitude of reasons and when I missed this past months event, I was also disappointed that I didn't get a chance to draw this new model. I then remembered that I hadn't had a chance to post the sketches from last months model. @Caciazoo is always a great model and has some great energy and knows her angles. . . . The first picture is all of the sketches put together. I love taking every gesture drawing and trying to turn them into a layout as if it were full of people. The subsequent images are the actual timed sessions. The first is sketches done in 2 minute, the next is done in 5 minutes, after that is a 5 and a 10, a 10 and then a 20. These sessions have helped me learn anatomy a great deal and help keep my sketching fresh and help me draw much faster. Last month I got to draw @Maikasozo at @drinkanddrawnyc and she was a trip! Shes got an interesting stature that commands power, so it was nice to try and capture that in the short poses we drew. At #DrinkandDrawNYC we do 2 min, 5 min, 10 min and 20 min poses so these exercises help you quicken your drawing speed while trying to learn accuracy as well.
