XD. .pours copper with 1.5" of white head. .now, new belgium's heavy melon had a nice watermelon nose to it. .this one was overbearingly sweet like a jolly rancher (insert ptsd flashback to that time I had a four loko watermelon. .I didn't know any better and I regret that decision every day). .which, believe it or not, betrays the palate fairly heavily. .the nose locks your brain to thinking you're having something artificially flavored, and once you take that sip. it's like e.honda hundred hand slapping that notion out of your mind forever. .until you get another whiff. lol. .very dry, crackery up front with more of a cucumber note than watermelon on the finish. (if you vape and are familiar with Testlab9/Fluids by Intellect's En Plein Air. .this is EXACTLY what I mean by that. .minus the basil. lol). .the pine & resin notes stick with you for a while, but it's not unpleasant. .it's ok at best. not as rough as other DIPAs I've had. and it's surprisingly drinkable at 10%. but, it still ranks last on my list of BP beers. 2nd to last on watermelon brews.
