It's Triumphant Thursday, and Something Wicked instantly popped up in my mind, goodness, I'm so fond of that disaster duo it's incredible.

Whenever I see an excerpt (or word find tag games) cross my dash, I'm either grinning altogether too widely or sighing at Caz's antics and Jade's reactions, they're a golden duo and I'm very, very grateful I've come across your wip. It's a lot of chaotic fun, and the whole concept is just brilliant

To be honest, my day kind of sucked, so seeing this pop up in my asks was just really, really great to see.

Also, just in general you're a really sweet person, and I love seeing your tags when I post SW things. Also, also, Aquiver Aglow is just such an interesting concept and I can't wait to see more.

Good day to you and your pup, Nikky:) Day 9 question is tender: What is the softest thing Calypso and Davy Jones could do for each other, and would the other know it? Would they ever do such a thing?

This is a fun question. Hmm. Davy Jones... the best/softest thing he could do/has done is probably attempt to compose arias in her name. Calypso is rarely mentioned in any songs and that does sting her a bit, and Davy Jones has been putting her to lyric before her met her. At some point after they do meet, he’ll probably hum what little tune he was able to gather in a quiet moment. His attempts are along the lines of something a child could do, no masterpieces that will catch someone’s ear, but he tries and he puts what he can of it his heart into it, and it’s rarer still that her appearance in anything is as soft as Davy Jones makes it, so she doesn’t mind. (I don’t know if this’ll make it to the story though because then I’ll have to actually write something and that’s not gonna be fun).

Calypso at one point (the timing has shifted a bit from what it originally was supposed to be) shaves his beard for him. In old Greek times, having no beard was a no no, but after times of grief, was acceptable. So Davy Jones suffers a loss, is with Calypso and mentions it idly how he needs to find a moment to do so — most of his free moments go to Calypso or are spent socializing with his crew and he’s not eager to give some of that up to face his grief so brazenly. Calypso offers to do it for him and it’s a pretty soft moment. She drops most of her snark for it and her touch is nothing but gentle and her tone is soft. For Davy Jones, it helps, not being alone as it’s happening and he takes comfort in her presence that has nothing to do with her divinity.

Hello! Day 22: what is the strangest thing Caz's ever done in his bat form? Is there anyone who solely knows him as a bat and doesn't know he's also a vampire? How often does he use that form? What was it like when he first discovered it?

So, fun fact, Caz actually has multiple animal forms. Vampires can take the form of any animal they drink from (as shapeshifters, they technically could figure out the transformation without it, but the DNA helps provide the blueprint). But Caz probably uses his bat form the most/is most known for it.

I think the only ones who know him only as a bat are the local colonies he occasionally chats with.

Caz generally turns into a bat when he needs to travel somewhere that's too far to walk to (he doesn't drive), provided he has enough energy to do so.

I'm not sure about the strangest thing he's done as a bat, but I had envisioned a scene for a now-scrapped plot line where Caz is caught, um, talking to a family of bats living in his attic while still in human form. It gets a bit awkward.

I haven't gotten into him first discovering this ability, yet. I imagine he would have had to eventually learn from one of the other Transylvanian strigoi, who he wouldn't have been too keen to cozy up to after some of these strigoi terrified his hometown and killed his brother, so it was probably a rather reluctant sort of lesson.

But once he did learn, he would have loved it. He enjoys flying.
