Sometimes NYC folks get confused when I say I'm skeptical of driverless taxis - here's a bunch of reasons why that have nothing to do with being (correctly) skeptical of big tech. Turns out the safety isn't there yet, and unsurprisingly, they mean more cars on roads in cities!

Cities deserve real transportation solutions that scale - public and active transit. I know a lot of the US has a real long way to go to get there, but NYC (for the most part) is there and could really get there for all New Yorkers using proven solutions like protected bus and bike lanes.
