lando actually calling max out for threatening again to retire because the regs aren't to his liking..... max fans on twitter are already crucifying lando for it but like..... is he wrong? 👀 like max talks about retiring so much that at a certain point, it's like.... just do it then? if you don't wanna race in f1 anymore, then you don't have to?

and i mean, you gotta hand it to george and lando. some of the only people on that grid who have the balls to be real about the fact that max sometimes does just throw toddler tantrums "whenever anything is not going his way..."

full disclaimer: i am not a technical girlie and really don’t understand a lot of the reg changes like that, but from what I gather, the 2022 regs (on top of making the cars heavier and bulkier) also made the racing itself very car-dependent. i think it was actually daniel himself who said a lot of the "turbo-era" generation struggled under them due to the fact that the driver themselves couldn’t really make any on-the-fly adjustments while racing. Your position and race results were very much dependent on getting the set-up right…and if you didn’t, there was really no recourse come race day. Your race was just done.

So, in comparison, I will happily take smaller, lighter cars with more "management" needed from the driver over the previous regulations. I’m sure it is annoying for them and I’m really not saying that max isn’t adaptable because he’s proven he is, but I also think it would be a bit silly for me to say that he (and red bull as a team) didn’t benefit greatly from the more car-dependent era given that there was a time that they were finishing minutes (multiple) ahead of the second-placed car on pure place alone.

I’m sure max, of all drivers, will find a way to make it all click. lando, george, even carlos and charles, are all still young and adaptable too but my gooood am I just sick of hearing everyone complaining 24/7. I get it, it’s part of the sport but I do think a LOT of drivers have gotten complacent since 2022 and we will see a very clear divide between drivers that can think for themselves and drivers that were just in a fast car.

Either way, if they’re going to continue like this…please just put some women in their seats. I’m so serious: give me Doriane and Maya tearing it up in lighter, smaller cars.

How the fuck does it take the FIA a very serious crash to figure out that these new regulations suck. Like even though my favourite driver is doing well, I still hate these regulations. They are so insanely dangerous.

Preface: I know nothing about engines, I’m not an engineer, I only have the most basic knowledge ever that I’ve tried to gather since I’m a fan of F1.

I wish there was a way to make the engines 50/50, but without having the battery determine so much of the racing. Like why is the boost even a thing? I feel like the overtake is explainable, it’s basically the new addition to replace drs, to make overtaking easier. But if we removed boost, and instead made it so the engine delivered more consistent battery power the same way the combustion engine does, I feel like a lot of the current issues were having with “having to drive the PU” would disappear. I’m assuming this is either 1. Not possible, or 2. Extremely difficult, since it’s not already how it works.

It’s a shame though, that the way the engine works now seems to limit the drivers both in driving style and in decision making. I hope they will figure out a way to work with the engine that makes it less of a calculating race and more of a driving race.

EU's draft ecodesign requirements for sustainable products regulation (ESPR)

In line with green transition in the EU, fresh policy proposals are making their way forward. The drafts – if adopted – require companies to take considerable steps, while the modifications will also result in enhanced rights for consumers: extended eco-design obligations, reclassified unfair commercial practices, novel consumer rights – such as the “right to repair” – are to be expected.

Key elements of the proposal:

Broader Compliance: All products circulating on the internal market must meet adjusted ecodesign criteria; promoting durability, reliability, reusability, and environmental considerations.

Digital Passport: Necessity to have digital passports for select products to enhance traceability, aide repair and recycling efforts. A public online platform for passport comparison is mandated.

Unsold Goods: Transparent handling of unsold goods is mandated, with potential bans on environmentally impactful product destruction.

Online Marketplace Oversight: Online marketplaces must cooperate with surveillance authorities to enforce eco-design requirements.

Circumvention Prevention: Test-detecting products and products which alter performance are prohibited.

Green Public Procurement: Commission empowerment for ecodesign requirements in public contracts is introduced.
