Sognate e mirate sempre più in alto di quello che ritenete alla vostra portata. Non cercate solo di superare i vostri contemporanei o i vostri predecessori. Cercate, piuttosto, di superare voi stessi.
.
Always dream and aim higher than you think is within your reach. Don't just try to surpass your contemporaries or your predecessors. Try to surpass yourself.

Kharkiv direction
Croatia. A beautiful destination for a summer vacation. A place that Central Europe knows well, but I still neglected this Balkan peninsula on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. I'm glad I was able to visit this place before the rush of tourists with my family and was able to shoot a few pictures during several sunrises and sunsets.
I visited the island of Krk and the place near Šibenik where we were in car camps.
Thanks Croatia, I'm already grinding my teeth on you for a bigger video dedicated to your beautiful islands and nature, which really got me excited.
I also thank my family, with whom I had a great time.

so there's an article in the New York Times today about drone pilots. drone pilots fly drones in foreign countries and use them to assassinate people on the Pentagon's wanted list. the article is talking about the trauma these drone pilots experience because often, they're ordered to ignore civilian casualties, e.g. murder civilians if you have to. they're also often ordered to assassinate a terrorist, then follow the funeral procession and kill everyone at the funeral. as one pilot said, "they make me do things that are against my moral compass."
and I have sympathy for them, I do. I know the military is parasitic and it preys on the poor, the vulnerable, and the exploited. I know it's not always someone's "fault" for joining the military. I empathize with their pain.
but I also feel angry that they're being like "boohoo, I killed a civilian and now I'm traumatized about it!" I have more sympathy for the civilians who were murdered at their hands. what about their trauma? what about their pain? I understand that getting out of the military isn't always easy, but frankly, if your commanding officers are forcing you to commit war crimes, then it's your responsibility to Not Do Them.
I don't know, I just think it's a weird angle to try to write about drone pilots from, because I don't know how anyone could empathize more with the pilots than with the innocent people they're murdering. It reminds me of abusers being like "it hurts me that I hurt you!!" and then the abusee being expected to comfort the abuser.
BIG NEWS for all the Part 107 drone pilots out there!
