That time a few years back when we did a full show based both on the films Santa Claus Conquers The Martians and Taken titled TWAS THE NIGHT MARTIANS INVADED BURLESQUE! Currently we are in the beginning stages of creating a show that might bring back a part of this as just one act among many. Courtney's Testimony!
Hey guys this is Courtney here!! Just here to write about my experiences from the first night of evangelism and the ‘Droppo’.
As it is my first time on summer project and speaking more of my faith, it was a really good experience for me. The night initially consisted of groups of us walking around advertising the droppo, but then on one corner somehow we ended up in a conversation about politics and the broken state of the world. Now another few guys came up and one wanted to join our conversation even though his friends wanted to be elsewhere. He said that he wanted to have an intellectual conversation, and so we spent some time speaking with him. Hasnaa was trying to establish what he believed about God, and eventually he wanted to know what it was we believed. Hasnaa explained to him what we Christians believe, and then he wanted to know more. ‘What’s your story?’ he asked us all, and Nathan, Hasnaa and I gladly shared our testimonies with him.
Afterwards, this guy was so touched by our willingness to sit with him, chat with him, and just generally help him understand what we believe and who we are. He seemed to really appreciate it, and so Nathan offered to pray for him- which he gladly accepted.
It was really cool to see how God can work in people’s hearts, and even though we can’t yet say we have a new brother in Christ, we are certain that God has planted a seed through us and will use others to help this person grow and come to know Christ more and more.
