Warping with DROPS Alpaca for 300 warp threads. Let's see what happens.
Preparing to do a test weaving of short warp on my big loom.
Picked the Alpaca from DROPS some time ago and I want to see if it makes sense to start a big warp with it...
(my yarn, newly cleaned reed and shuttles, plus my warping hook)
Added more needed stuff...
(beams, reed beam and spacing paper)
and the loom is ready
now I need to decide how much yarn I wish to sacrifice for this test

Another wee one - I’m obsessed with Ysolda’s baby patterns, they are just so cute and a pleasing amount of detail. This was for my sort of sister in law’s god child. We planned it together when we were on holiday in France. It’s based on the pattern wee chickadee, but we got James to change the chart to elephants. This was quite complicated because each elephant is the size of two chicks, but he made it work and I’m super happy with how it turned out.
The yarn is drops alpaca which I love, I’ve used this for many projects now, and I love the way it looks when it’s blocked (I usually block it with an iron but for some reason these pictures look a bit more bunched than I’d like, so I’m going to have another go!)
Fall days
So I realize people who don’t live in Bergen might not consider today to be a nice fall day, but as I’ve lived here for over 2 years now I think it was.
