Mornin’ Y’all!
First of all, good morning out there to everyone reading this on my blog, and Welcome. Today I would like to focus on a few things, mainly some really great no fat or low fat recipe resources for vegetarians, as well as some which are vegan-ized too. I would also like to talk a bit about my new outlook on fitness, and what my goals are currently for my personal approach on my workouts. Also going to be posting some links to some awesome videos y’all can check out too.
Let’s get to it!
Resources for NO FAT, or LOW FAT
One of my personal fantabulous faves is “Forks Over Knives,” mainly because of their approach on food. Forks Over Knives offers recipes on their site, and they have an accessible app through the App Store, and GooglePlay for a small price. What I love about Forks Over Knives is their recipes are mosty vegan, and show the importance of eating a plant-based diet. When I say ‘plant-based,’ I mean- Fruits, vegetables, Complex Starches, and no animal fat or products. I say “plant -based” because you can still call yourself “vegan,” if you live on peanut butter sandwiches and Soy Ice Cream. I also love the fact that Forks Over Knives has a film, which showcases the cold hard facts about how eating dairy, and animal fat and other processed products is killing the globe. You can find short clips of the film on Youtube,or you can purchase the full film for a small fee.

Another incredible website is that of Dr. Dean Ornish, an American heart surgeon whose life’s work has been all about the creation of a healthy lifestyle program which “reverses” the effects of heart disease by eating a plant- based, no fat diet. On his website you can search recipes by category (breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc), or view cooking demos of some of the actual recipes being made in the kitchen.

OR if you would like to know more about Dr. Dean Ornish himself, and purchase any of his resources, here is a link to his own personal website:

My all -time favorite website is that of Dr. John A. Mcdougall. Another American doctor whose life’s work has been mainly focused on reversing the effects of heart disease, obesity, diabetes, etc... On one of his expert(s) cooking websites you can search recipes by category, or by ingredient and on his personal clinic website, you can search by the program of his which you wish to take part in. Note: In the latest news, Dr. Mcdougall also has an app now available on the App Store, as well as for Android devices on GooglePlay so you can take his recipes with you wherever you go.

Another resource which I found super helpful for myself because I went through the same experiences was a lecture given by a follower of Dr. Mcdougall , her name is Chef A.J. She is a Chef by trade, and a plant-based dieting vegan, ,but she wasn’t always this way. Her journey started much like that of mine. Bombarded by her own constant health issues of overeating, under- eating, eating the wrong kind of food, etc. You can view her lecture which is accompanied by who else but Dr. John Mcdougall (of course!), at the link below. On Youtube you can also search Chef A.J. and find many informational culinary plant-based diet demos being done by the chef herself.
