I’m honestly crying right now. I though the Post Office had lost the package from @drovie‘s Little Comforts kickstarter, and in the middle of all my packing, I was so distraught...the office has been closed most of the day and they just opened, I get back there and - there it is! I get it home, tear it open and here’s this gem...right before my big move to St Louis, here’s this original hand-drawn gem of an image and all I can see in my head is the scene from An Unexpected Journey...

“I’m going on an adventure!”

...but now I seriously need to start packing again...hiatus ongoing. Also note to the artist: if you want me to take down this image I will. I’m just so overwhelmed by it, it’s so wonderful, and I'm so happy to have received it. <3

Hey art lovers! My friend and fellow artist Jessica Douglas aka @drovie has a design up for pre-order on Zox.la! If you haven’t heard of them, they’re a family owned business that makes super comfy elastic wristbands with awesome art printed on it.

being a good person doesn't make being bad things okay. It's up to you depending on your relationship. But generally saying 'dude, wtf' or "hey man I don't care if it's a joke, knock it off" is usually what I do in those situations. Or I just walk off until they can learn to be civilized.

That’s what I’m doing at this point, is trying to call her out on it and not let her get away with excuses. I know she cares about me, and I’m hoping that if she knows it makes me uncomfortable, she’ll stop, at least when I’m around. But I can’t change everything, and I can’t change her mind so fully. But I’m doing as much as I can. I do my best to be aware of my own racism, which is why I want to call out hers. (She’s a little younger than my parents and grew up in a smaller town, so some of it is to be expected due to socialization - but that doesn’t excuse it and I don’t want to tolerate it.)
