Laidra is a bard with ambition despite being born a commoner in Menzoberranzan. When she comes into the employ of the fourth noble house, she is tasked with soothing a strange beast chained to the bed of Matron DeVir. She never would have expected the beast to change into an even stranger elven man, nor would she have expected him to completely change the way she viewed her place in Drow society.

This idea came to me almost two years ago, but I've never been in a place where I felt like I could do it justice. Well, I've finally said FUCK IT, and here we are.
I've taken a lot of inspiration for this bard from a deep love I have for Americana Folk music and will regularly reference folk music, country music, bluegrass, etc. I plan to include examples to the songs used and will try to keep it as easily accessible as possible. This is music that is near and dear to my heart. I hope you learn about some music you maybe never heard before and find something new that you love.
The first song referenced in this chapter is called Bird Song, and the reasoning behind using it will become clearer after reading. There’s a link in the chapter to a source to listen as well as some sheet music and analysis on it. That’s all extra for those who care.
