To those of you who don't understand shizaya let me tell you the original frog prince story (which may or may not be completely relevant but hear me out).
So one day the princess was running around the woods playing with a golden ball, you know, like you do. And she came to a well and got distracted by the water or something because she dropped her golden ball in.
After crying a little bit about her lost ball a frog pops up and is all “hey, I can probably get that for you”
And so the princess, really wanting her gold ball back apparently because she’s willing to talk to frogs about it, says “what really? that’d be awesome bro” (obviously I am directly quoting the story)
“yeah, but you have to be my best friend and let me do everything with you” says the frog in a totally normal way.
So the princess agrees and the frog gets her ball out of the well. Instead of honoring her promise to make the not-creepy-at-all talking frog her best friend she runs home to her castle leaving the frog at the well. Days later the frog shows up and the girl’s father says she should follow through with her promises and forces the indignant princess to let the perfectly normal talking frog follow her around and eat off her plate and sleep in her bed. Best friend stuff.
Needless to say, the princess was getting a little fed up with her new best friend who just happened to leave frog goo all over everything. At night when they went to sleep, again, in the same bed, the frog started croaking really loud. This really pissed the princess off and she threw him against the wall which instead of killing the poor frog turned him back into the prince he had been before some witch cursed him.
In the morning, the natural conclusion after the princesses murder attempt was that the two should be married. They then ran off to the princes castle with a guy, Iron Henry (possibly the only named character to my knowledge), who used to work for the prince but was so sad when he turned into a frog they did the only logical thing and put metal bands around his heart. When he learned the prince was now human again they heard this cracking sound and the metal bands broke because he was so tremendously happy. Henry’s a reasonable, ordinary addition to this story.
Now the moral of this story, believe it or not, is that passion can be easily turned to love and that I hold some stock in even if the frog prince story was long and unnecessary and didn’t really help prove my point.
