Corioalar character train sketches! I’m currently happily dusting this 15-year old story arc, and I’m updating the characters that once were “normal” dragons towards my own, proper corioalar species. They’re Quaith (nicknamed “Pyron”), Caelestria (my friend’s character), Onaphay, Shiyroara, Neshtéra and “Pyron’s cousin” who’s already part of a little project my friend and I want to draw out during September’s hiking vacation.

Fun fact: Joseph was once deathly afraid of corioalars, and now he’s cocky enough to use Shiyroara as a literal drum head. He’s always been a drummer in the back story, and I think I lived out my own wish of being able to play the instrument through him. Now I am him, albeit female, how heartily cheesy is this? x)

We also decided that Drummer Jesus was his teacher when he was younger, because Georg Monheim was such a character that he has to BE a character. I’m a bit afraid to witness the manifestation of that teacher’s quirks at some point. :D

@shivallon and I attended the Finkenbach Festival, a small but excellent “Hessian Woodstock”, this past weekend. And we met Drum Jesus there - name chosen in compliance with our camping neighbors. x) The image above isn’t even much of a caricature, he was tall, scrawny with humongous deltoids, had porcelain skin that glistened with sweat, and his obsessional face was hidden behind his hair for the better part of the set. His entire body vibrated in 16th notes while he struck his kit, and he was our favorite curiosity. :) In real life, he’s Georg Monheim from “Electric Orange”, really worth a listen if you get something out of psychedelic rock.
