Hope your week’s gone well. Mine’s turned out to be expensive, with my laptop failing to install the Windows 11 update and now unable to pick up wi-fi. So I’ve a new one coming in 12 days and in the meantime I’m managing with my old laptop tethered to pick up wi-fi from my mobile phone. All that’s why I’m posting so late.
Today I wanted to show you my pen piece “Batala Mersey Drummers Parade at Northwich Pina Colada Festival”. I included it in my November newsletter, but I wanted to do a little more work on it after that and I finally finished this afternoon!
Steve and I went to the Pina Colada Festival for the first time last August, and I was mesmerised by the drummers’ focus, energy and joy! I couldn’t resist taking photos and drawing this one with artists’ ink pens on paper. That limited the shades available for me to use but I think it added to the vibrancy and visual complexity of the scene!
The original is £75 unframed (including UK postage) or £95 framed. Please just message me to make your purchase. And it’s available as prints and printed on all sorts of lovely things to your order, at:
I started this piece in August, three months before I finished it in November 2025, and you might be able to guess from just looking at it w
P.S. The first image is my art, the second is my photo.
