his clothing choices were not to blame. instead, try navigation through endless sea of clingy fans.  appreciation for the physical contact of palm against spine though. enough to elicit a soft groan, unconsciously. “yeah.” edging on raspy after a solid beat, “please.” not enough to cough again. only contend with the tightness left in previous strain’s wake.

“Do you know I hate it here?” Sorom blinked back the dreaded tears she’d been fighting against for hours now, sitting in that cold room staring at the wall and thinking about everything that had gone wrong in the last year and how all of it could have been avoidable if she’d just left him behind. 

“I hate everything about this place. It’s not...it’s not home. It’s not...” she started, feeling the sobs start to begin in her chest and temporarily paused her words. “I hate this place. I miss my family, I miss...my old job. And I left all of it behind. For you,” she whispered. “I should’ve never come here. I shouldn’t have come with  you.”
