Directly after Jadzia gets married to Worf, Kira falls for and sleeps with the charming, wisecracking, swashbuckler version of Bariel who tells exciting stories about outrageous things he's done in the past. Even though the episode explicitly emphasises that she usually goes for boring men and that Mirror!Bariel is nothing like the original. The fact that his deception is very obvious and that Kira is not that gullible. The fact that the manifestation of Kira’s worst fears about her own hedonism and sexuality shows up to rub it in.
