For the @polyshipweek​ prompt “Mapping the polycule”, my version of the DS9 polycule! I’ll probably re-do it later when I have better access to chart-making software than Markup on my iPad but otherwise I’m fairly satisfied. Otherwise the only other note I have is that apparently between canon and the people I ship Kira with she has a LOT (“lot” in all caps”) of partners.

Talisman

Ce talisman (80x80x1mm) fut trouvé dans la copie du texte occulte médiéval The Key of Solomon (1888 / aussi “la Clavicule de Salomon” parfois dans les traductions françaises) ayant appartenue à Cecil Williamson.

Une note sur l’envers du talisman dit : “Ce Pentacle de Jupiter fut composé durant la période de la pleine lune de Nov-Dec 1952 par Cecil H. Williamson, dans un cercle proprement construit et chargé de pouvoir, comme indiqué dans La Clé.”

Le dessin de Cecil sur le parchemin contient les noms des anges Adoniel et Bariel, et les mots “Wealth and riches are in his house and his righteousness endureth for ever”, ce qu’on pourrait traduire par : ”Prospérité et richesses sont en sa demeure, et sa droiture dure à jamais” (psaume cxii.3). Selon la petite Clé de Salomon, il est le quatrième pentacle de Jupiter, et ce talisman apportera ressources, honneur et prospérité. Le talisman d’origine a les inscriptions et noms d’anges en hébreu, mais celui ci a été modifié et traduit par Cecil. Les écrits du roi Salomon indiquent que le talisman devrait être gravé sur un disque d’argent au jour et à l’heure de Jupiter lorsqu’il est dans le signe du cancer.

Un talisman est normalement préparé rituellement par un praticien de la magie, dans le but d’achever un résultat particulier tel que la protection personnelle, la guérison, l’attraction de l’amour ou de l’argent, causer du mal, etc... Après sa réalisation, un talisman peut être utilisé comme une amulette, parfois porté autour du cou ou dans un sachet-charme. Fréquemment il est enterré ou détruit en accord avec le rituel dans lequel sa confection prenait part. (On retrouve l’idée du sigil un peu ici, qu’on détruit pour en activer le pouvoir. A la différence qu’un talisman a forcément une connotation rituelle, contrairement au sigil).
