Proposal for Project 1: Space (revised)

For my project I have chosen to look at a Riding School and to produce a series of photographs which convey the essence of the equestrian environment. For those who ride and understand this culture, my photographs bring them back to familiar spaces which evoke pleasant memories. For those who are not used to such an environment these photographs may show spaces which are not comprehendible but still suggest a warm and homelike feeling that a rider would have.

NOTE:

(From lecture)SHAPE:is very important in photographing. in particular in my second shoot i looked at a gridded format which was developed through wide shots. This very distincitvely divided the space in my photographs by ground, building, sky. These proportions not only work with the golden ratio but reinforce the structure of the riding school that i am attempting to convey, consequently the gridded formal is seen in the structure of my chosen space as well as in the way that i chose to photograph my area.
