My entertainment spree continued because of the good folks at @downtown_la generosity from the “DTLA is Open Summer Photo Contest” Tonight I chose No Time to Die at at @drafthousela because it’s Daniel Craig’s last performance as James Bond. DTLA is still wide open with #DTLAisOpen and #DTLAphotos. It was my first visit to Alamo Drafthouse. I ordered the popcorn with butter and had a coke. There were refills 😊 Next time I’ll have a beer but I’d already cocktailed at Pez Cantina and was going light on the alcohol. I enjoyed the comfortable loungers and was set for the whole movie. Daniel Craig had his star ceremony last night at Hollywood and Highland so I thought this movie choice was fitting. I had a blast. I did movies the right way with James Bond. It was a complete and satisfying night! Today I treated myself to dinner and a movie. I’d won “DTLA is Open Summer Photo Contest”in June and July with some fun photos I’d taken while I was out and about while COVID protocols were being loosened. My photos were showcase with other winning photos from people who captured the energy of DTLA. I won some gift cards to DTLA business for my photos as did others using the hashtags #DTLAisOpen and #DTLAphotos. I want to thank @downtown_la for the passion for DTLA and their generosity. I stopped by Pez Cantina on Grand to sample the sea food. I hade a fish and oyster taco. (The tacos came with a salad because I didn’t want the beans & rice.) But I stared with a casamigos Repo Cadillac margarita with salsa, guacamole and chips. I finished it off with Tres Leches Flan. I came close to the tipping point of being too full. That was a great meal and the service was superb. It was the perfect send off to Alamo Drafthouse to see No Time to Die. Last night was the opening of the LA Art Show benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with celebrity host Rita Ora. But then there was all of these people up to these shenanigans that happened on the LA Conversation Center’s floor as people celebrated life and art. Here’s a small sample of last night’s activities in full swing as I found them happening.
