(Don't mind her. She is just enjoying the sweet view)
Ippolita, l'Aspide.
Dto'kar, la bestia scarlatta.
Two killers meeting during late Renaissance time and ending up fascinated by each other and their hunting skills.
Ippolita can be rather defiant, arrogant, yet Dto'kar loves her for this: she can make her presence imposing regardless of who is in front of her and it only makes him proud to have her as mate. She now lives on a planet where the Ossa, Dto'kar clan, is located. Dto'kar knew she would find herself at home with bad bloods as him. Ippolita goes along with the female bad bloods, often sharing their hunting stories.
A bit of messy lore
Ippolita, a 26-year-old woman married to an old noble man.
Unhappy with her marriage and how her husband and society treated her, she started to get a knowledge of poisonous plants and animals, using them to make lethal drops.
She decided to help those who wanted to get out of an abusive, forced marriage as hers by selling poison or offering to kill the target.
However she started to become more drunk with this power over life and death, and she started to kill just for the fun of it (she surely didn't let out her pent up anger in an healthy way).
Authorities never found out who was behind these murders, since Ippolita always keeps her voice and face concealed by using a modified Moretta Mask when dealing with clients, and she became rather swift at poisoning food or drinks. As well as using her nobility and married status to hide herself.
All these deaths started to be associated with the mysterious figure called L'Aspide.
However other deaths started to hit the city, by someone people called Bestia Scarlatta (due to the sight of a monstrous being jumping from roof to roof or hiding between the canals) and she got rather curious. She will end up investigating herself, to find the culprit, and perhaps work together for a common goal.
She often felt observed and once she spotted Dto'kar killing someone in an isolated street as she was sneaking back home. After that she started to keep track of this beast, even if it was at times impossible to find him.
They both were studying each other without realizing it, until they ended up meeting in person for the first time.
Dto'kar, a male of 250 years (30 in human years).
His name means Forest's Disease. His mask was inspired by the Mattacino mask, his armor by Arlecchino and Devil carnival clothing.
A wound on his throat caused his voice to change, sounding more distorted than they were. His chirping and growling sure terrify at night.
Dto'kar is a bad blood from the Ossa clan, famous for hosting all the dishonorable yautja rejected by their clans, a chaotic place ran by a twisted and merciless leader.
The golden claws scattered around his mask and armor is a symbol of this clan and a sign of his rank: three claw marks on the mask means he is a full experienced hunter and in a position high enough to give an advice to the clan leader without being killed.
He was allowed a "vacation" after a successful mission, and he decided to spend it on Earth, traveling between different areas.
He picked Earth since he considers humans pathetic enough to amuse him with their attempts of killing him, as well it's a popular hunting ground that attracts other yautja and Dto'kar always love adding an honorable hunter skull to his collection.
Yet he spend most of his time just observing other living beings. He is rather calm and composed compared to most bad bloods in the Ossa Clan.
It was during one of these 'spectator session' that he noticed Ippolita at a ball, through a window, and saw her dropping poison into a noble's drink.
The weeks after he proceeded to keep track of this human killer: Dto'kar found Ippolita's way of killing fascinating, and, ay the beginning, he thought she was a rare specimen of a venomous human.
Ippolita and Dto'kar first meeting was a mess: both tried to kill each other and Ippolita managed to stab him right under his chest (he carries proudly that scar now). However Dto'kar wanted to learn from her and Ippolita was fascinated by such demonic creature killing around her town, so they ended up with a truce.
Ippolita learned thanks to him new ways of self defense and attacks, while Dto'kar learned of an alternative way of killing. Using poison made toying with the prey much more fun and he liked hearing Ippolita talk about the various venoms and what symptoms they could cause.
Since their bond grew, Dto'kar often followed Ippolita to see her kill her targets, pleased at how skilled she was and how she enjoyed taking someone life, but still confused about why she never claimed such prizes.
Or why she was bonded to such a low life of a male. He may be a bad blood, but he found repulsive how disrespectful that mate of hers could get at times. A female yautja would have cut his head on the spot.
Yet Ippolita waited to get rid of him. Something about using his power to her benefit and waiting for the right occasion to poison him and get rid of him once and for all.
And Ippolita waited until Dto'kar offered her to go away with him: he didn't want to leave such a skillful "huntress" in a world that didn't praise her abilities, while his own clan surely would have appreciated it.
The Ossa clan leader was fascinated by peculiar humans or yautja, so Dto'kar was confident it would have been easy to let Ippolita into their clan, to use her knowledge to their advantage and let her stay.
